Dave - I'll fill a cat tray up before we get overwhelmed!.

Guess you are still talking doolally cat. I haven't mentioned moggies lately though! :)

Our remaining one is partially doolally, but it was her Mum that began peeing in my slippers etc when she became unwell. At present, remaining cat is very good and continent, though she does just sit and howl for no reason when settling down.

Thanks for the info about post bashers.:A It was a question I'd been meaning to ask anyway. Having had another look at the site, I think I might go electric after all, but I won't do anything immediately, because the old fence is still just about in place. I will speak with the neighbour first. ;)

does anyone want/know anyone that wants to buy a renault kangoo van ?? its a 57 [but only a week short of 08] plate. silver, side door, glazed rear doors, wood panelled inside, tow bar and elecs ,72,000m. service history, good nick [3 tiny dinks on side door] blah blah...:D

p.s. deisel and averages 50+ mpg

Sounds great, but I can't justify buying such a 'young' vehicle! :(

I know I should sell the Sprinter now, but I can't bring myself to do it. How would I look over the hedges? :rotfl:

Alfie, what about a 'ute' with a cover over the flat bed bit? Would that work for you?

  • Ooh, BD the list is pretty endless tbh.....but for starters there's -

Timber DG to seven front windows (not doing the back and the attic floor were done by PO)

Plastering four ceilings & two entire rooms

Laying 60 sq m wood flooring

    Panelling one room

    Building some new fitted cupboards

Fitting new rads in five rooms

    Carpeting top two floors

    Decorating five rooms

Cladding the 1980s extension to improve appearance

    Finish painting rear elevation

    Sorting out driveway landscaping

We (well actually Mr Phoebe with a bit of help from yours truly) will be doing everything except the windows, rads, carpets and driveway ourselves. Doesn't actually seem that bad now ;):D

Trouble is when we started this project we were intending to stay here long term, so did things at a gentle pace - now we need to step up a few gears :o

Do hope you have success with the stove tomorrow - will keep everything crossed for you :)

Dave - tbh, I'd much rather be attending your panto or Mr BD's......they sound like much more fun - shame you're all too far away :(

Alfie - yes, it was my DH - although strictly speaking he's from Southampton (was brought up on the outskirts) but spent most of his spare time and all his holidays in the Forest. He refers to it as his *spiritual home* and most journeys we take eastwards from here usually involve a detour through the Forest ;) Your new home sounds wonderful - you deserve it after your recent problems :)

I don't know anything about new vehicles, but I would get the van I wanted and then have extra seats added from a company like this:

Better Days, thanks for the Panto pics :) Hope your stove is there for the fitter.

Sorry, no bonfire yesterday, choille, or today, but I will have one when conditions allow. Hope the sun at least peeped through, however briefly.
  • morning all,

Well hubby is absolutely full of it, (flu) and his eyes, looks as though he got infections in both eyes... blood shot, weeping, running etc.. been screaming at him to go to the doctors, or at least the chemist... but nope... BUT I think after last night it was sooo bad, think he might listen to me now..

I am not feeling so good this morning, sore throat, itchy eyes etc... so going to take my pot of honey to work today... and have a few spoon full throughout the day, to see if that will sooth my throat...

Now that I am up early every morning, I am starting to list things on the day...might as well make use of the time, even if it is 5 - 10 items a morning... it will save me trying to find the time during the day..

right off to make another cuppa now...lol

    I've been Money Tipped!
We have a list of twelve projects to try and achieve this year.

Fell at first hurdle with hedge cutter failing as we'd really hoped to get sides of muck heap/ slurry cleared last weekend to be on schedule to do cake this weekend. Now January's target will me a miss!

Rather than take for repair I'm considering replace, ent this time. Any recommendations? Sturdy is key, ours [STRIKE]is seriously used[/STRIKE] takes serious abuse.
