LiR, best of luck with your event - is it a horsey thing? I know very little about horses sad to say... Nearest I've come is when the girls rode ponies from the farm up the hill from the caravan in summer. Cocoa was a favourite with DD2, small plump and dark brown! Have photos somewhere maybe. But DD1 had a nasty time with pony that ran off and dumped her into a gorse bush on Cilaen. Unfortunately it was the same day DD2 got stung by a weaver fish, so we were too busy getting that sorted out at local doctor to give her much sympathy, poor soul!
Anyway, I hope you'll share more about your event if you feel able to. Shame about your weekend away though - can it be re-scheduled? Or was it some special thing? We really want to go to Port Eliot Festival again this year, but I'm too scared to book it as am convinced something will happen and we won't be able to go... Had enough interrupted or ended early hols over the years recently, so am loath to spend out a large amount of cash (it's not just the festival ticket, it's the camping is expensive for me as need big tent) and then not be able to go.0 -
Yes, its horsey, and not my event, we'll just be the venue.
. Its quite specialised so probably won't share details at the time.
(That sounds dodgy. Its not dodgy, its just because its specialised obviously the person who has booked us might feel violated if I discussed it here for free with people!)
Algae is already showing through some of our paint. Definitely shouldn't have cut corners there and should have treated properly..
Edit: just realising I am still feeding my doggy soggier too early! We're twiddling our thumbs waiting for birds to come in......normally we go out straight after 'supper'0 -
we dont want them for wool or meat etc. just pretty/handsome/quirky ones that we can "spoil"
:rotfl:
Nothing wrong with taking wool off them - in fact a good thing to do in summer!Your local Weavers Spinners and Dyers Guild would probably be very happy to take any wool off you - even if it's not good for spinning they might be happy to play with felting. Or come to that, you might too!
You might get some advice on breeds from them too - most spinners are keen on fostering knowledge about wool for specific projects - knitting or weaving or felting or whatever.0 -

Great to share some good news:D:D:D
Davesnave Sheerluck Holmes is the Panto that Mr BD is doing! Playing at the end of February. They were queuing up when the tickets went on sale last week and some nights already sold out. A continual wonder to me - but the good people of Pakenham clearly do not have much excitement in February:rotfl::rotfl:The WI do a block booking of 40 seats - not bad for a village hall
Blimey, your WI alone would take up half the seats in our hall!
I forgot that you probably weren't on this thread last February when we did ours. If your DH wants a copy of our script for jokes, ideas etc I could email it to you, though I'm sure he'll have more than enough of his own!
Here's a taster:
Dr Whatsname: Holmes, why have you painted the front door bright yellow?
Holmes: Lemon entry, dear Whatsname, lemon entry!
I'll get me coat.....:o0 -
P.S. so pleased better days that wayward chook has returned0

BD, glad the chuck is back, wayward creature?
I think half the fun of local "events" is groaning and puns that only those in the know appreciate?
I suspect Friday evening is going to be fun (and not just the cider)? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
