I have set it at 80 degrees as per the manual as it is winter (although that does seem high even for me!), but how do you regulate the water temperature?

Oh, gosh, did I?
That was three years ago at latest!
Um.....on the hw cylinder I would have thought, cannot remember, but wouldn't have been the boiler.
Ours failed and was uneconomical to repair and not worth replacing for the one year :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Btw....hope to have some update soon.0 -

I suspect when we get it serviced we will be 'advised' to replace it, the house was built in the 1980's and the boiler is original. Very much doubt the new condensing boilers will last as long.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

They was something we wanted to know about that boiler but I cannot remember what.
As a matter of interest.......do you know the power of it? If you get it serviced can you ask for me
. Just interested in knowing, because it served this house fine.
Surprised it was only eighties tbh. But vaguely remember look of it. Boiler at last Holme ( parents house) was original sixties boiler, going fine!0 -
Sorry LIR no idea of the power, but now I have turned it up to 80 it is heating the house a treat. The floor standing boilers may not be as economical as the new ones, but as long as you can get the parts they are worth keeping. New condensing boiler in rental was a pain whenever it the temperature dropped near freezing at night the bloody thing wouldn't start up. It cost the LL £3,500 in call outs and repairs (after paying over £4k to have it fitted) and it had started playing up again just before we left.lostinrates wrote: »They was something we wanted to know about that boiler but I cannot remember what.

As usual, I've cobbled together a photo set to share with distant family and friends. The idea was to slip the web address in with our Christmas cards, but DW ended up writing a letter anyway....:wall:
I know the photo commentary is a bit impersonal, but stuff in the public domain has to be.
The address for the set is:

(I got a bit fed up with Photobucket changing things.
)
Many of you will have seen the photos before. There's no great revelations there, but have a look if you like.
