Yesterday I bought another electric heater. I left a message with the electricity people that if they didn't come today I was gonna plug it in, turn my cooker on, (and all the other appliances) and take this postcode DOWN.

I like your style! :T Similar tactics to the one I used with Openreach. It works, but we shouldn't have to.....:(

Yes it is windy and cold today, CTC, but I think just a temporary blip. Luckily, the fencing is all going on in the shelter of some large outbuildings today, so we might be reasonably protected. However, when the wind aligns itself with the little stream valley, it can whoosh up there horribly. Funny stuff, wind.

My projects, phoebe, are all less complicated than yours, or lir's. You will note that I've not done much complicated planning lately, but I hope to get back to it in the New Year, choosing new heating for the building.

The next thing is sorting out the drains down at the barn and putting in a rudimentary cloakroom, which might ease the situation when we need to move out. We have a caravan with a shower/sink/cooker already on site. Getting rid of grey water's easy, but we don't want to go down the chemical toilet route when there's a brand new septic tank there....somewhere. :)

Gosh vey windy here and am trying to pluck jup courage to go to the town. DS2 has sold 6 of his turkeys 4 to go.

Mum situation still very stressful and I've been poorly off work. Nearly finished the Christmas shopping.

Right must pull on the big girl pants and get myself away.

Dave, would it be ok for me to pm you about a teaching query, please??

It wouldn't be until later today (I'm going to do some googling first) & there would be no rush to reply, just whenever you have time.

    Thank you.

Well done on the turkey sales!

I ordered my goose, I phoned up the goose sellers and asked if they had any tiddlers just for DH and I and they said, they had just one squirt and they'd stick my name on it. DH is furious, he thought we'd get the biggest goose going and eat it until we tasted good with apple and prunes ourselves!

    Picking up here too CTC.

I'm going to have to go and move the horses. :(

    Edit,..well...that was easy....

Everyone just wanted to comply and get it all done, whohoooo!

Bonus the dogs got a run........which is good cos I don't plan on lingering when doing chickens and putting hay out later.

The bubble wrap that was over the pallet that stands in the gap where a back door should be has blows out and is stuck in the chicken wire fence, I cannot wrestle it out, hopefully it will stick till wind does down.

    Right, next thing......

Who does one call to do removals of super heavy things that normal people won't move......like wood pellet boilers? I can probably get my plumber to disconnect it, but he cannot move it, now will any removal people move it. At this stage I am prepared to stick it in a barn, then I can have some one collect it free to collect or if that fails I can get the scrappy to take it down the line some time. But would like it out, pronto.

Err......yes, but remember I left for good in April 2007, and apart from a short term contract in 2006, I was just a supply from September 2002.

So, I am not very 'up with it,' whatever the latest 'it' might be! :o:o:o
  • Bay trees wrapped in fleece for winter. Wind last night has lifted 3 ridge tiles, am getting the whole lot re-pointed now I know they are weak.

Judging by the gusts we get occasionally & the fact that we're well off the track of the worst of the weather I hope everyone further north & east has battened down the hatches.
    Stay safe folks.
