Yes, that's why I don't bother, partly. But if my alf is going to go AWOL from here I'd like to have some way to check she's ok :rotfl:

I am but I have no friends - delibarately. For work only and follow a couple of groups.

Dh's work and employers in his field are known to check out facebook as a gauge of employability. He almost never posts and has no status or anything visible, but has reconnected with a few peoe he'd lost touch with via the messaging facility. :). He has it to be visible but not too visible. He sometimes wishes he hadn't friended some of his friends and family though......

We have been talking about using facebook rather than a website for the business. Its not hard gives presence and is an easy way to get group message out if all clients use it (or use that an email to give two chances to see them) . At some point we are going to have to stop thinking and start doing though!

After three days of bonfiring I'm rather bored with it, but at least we'll have room for the apple tree prunings now.

On the one hand we seem to be well ahead, but on the other, I seem to have lost a lot of my 'oomph' recently. I look at things like large fence posts that need moving and I think, "Tomorrow is soon enough for that."

Who was it said, "My get up and go has got up and gone." ?
That just about sums it up. :o

I took the chain saw into day and arranged that they will return it on the day they collect the mower from its service. Then we can start sawing and stacking the oak, clearing up the coach house ruins again

They layland is burning really well, and actually, very warm, which is good news. Now I know I'll consider it in the future as a firewood tbh. Three years drying so far mind. We have a few years supply of that though it does burn through quickly.

Using FB for work is completely different as long as you have set your personal privacy settings really tight.

The key seems to be setting up a generic e-mail address that can be used for notifications, a careful FB page specially for the administrator and then being careful about the FB "shop" name. My administrator's FB page has no connection to the real me.

Yahoo is a bit of a nightmare though because they do not like you to use them for business addresses.

but [EMAIL="nicelivery@freeprovider"]nicelivery@freeprovider[/EMAIL] and FB page for Nice Livery should be OK.

that way the real you does not have to like the

  • Davesnave... sounds as though you need to have a bit of a time out for yourself... you have done loads this year, and with the weather, dark nights etc. it is now catching up with you, and saying you need a bit of a chill-out... get your jimjams on, and a nice blanket, and a whole packet of biscwits, or whatever you fancy and just chill-out on the sofa... with Mrs Davesnave...

    Nice pics Maggie

    hello peeps :D

i have been absent to save YOUR sanity...:p

i think if i moaned/reported any more re my water i had an image of "lemmings" :rotfl::rotfl:

gist is the job is done BUT corners were cut, lies were told and my temper rose !!

water board man came to check work yesterday [the only 20 minutes i wasnt here !] BUT he rang me an hour later.
mr pratt claimed water man was VERY pleased with work so far BUT when i spoke to WM he said hed told them the long run was ok but the 10ft from /to the house [other drainage system there] had to be at least 2ft 6" deep OR he had to insulate the pipe ... and it had to be a distance below sewerage pipe........ NOPE  i spoke to young apprentice [poor sod] when mr pratt wasnt there and bless him , he told me they hadnt dug deeper OR insulated it !! its all buried now but....;)

best bit was where there was 3 paving slabs [near back door path where i cross carrying heavy fuel containers]. mr p just left mud there and when i asked for slabs back ? he said they were broken.. so i said well, you have to make good and i want a solid path. when i got back today he,s shoved a barrow of chunky stones on it !! twisted ankle territory !

the only good report is that the digger driver to trench for new soak away for cess pit is a friend of postie and he did a good job :) [i will get postie to ask that soak away pipe was put in correctly ;) as i wasnt here]

the sort of funny bit is ,this morning bimble was running across the garden and i called him and for once he went to return immediatly and in his haste disapeared down the 5ft deep trench .... i ran over and in the bottom was a mud monster !! he was black...:rotfl: he looked at me with a "whoops" face..
i had to lay down, lean over [ digger driver kept hold of me ] and grab his collar and hoik him out...:rotfl: he got hosed down and looked very sheepish..:D

any way i have enviro man back on the 13th  [friday] he wants to go through every thing. [he wants blood....:o ]
my concern is that my water pipe will freeze :( i was asked to take lots of pics which ive done.

right after reading that lot, i bet you wish you had kept quiet...;) :rotfl::rotfl:
