Dave when I saw and smelt the Viburnum before we knew what it was I said to hubby that you would help me figure it out and were bound to have one :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Alfie let us know you are ok. Hopefully you have been taken away on a romantic adventure and are just too giddy to post

There are 'blind spots' but we can reach most of the house & a good part of the land with no problems. The signal gets lost if we are inside another building or have a building between us & the phone base. That's where the walkie-talkies are useful.
Can't you just get another handset to plug into a normal socket in the kitchen? Only the base has to plug into a phone socket.
Alternatively, they used to (presumably still do) sell boosters which plug into the mains & allow handsets to work in rooms they otherwise wouldn't.
We have a bss in the kitchen. The main base is on the first floor to be as high as possible (we were told that's best). Similarly the wifi needs a booster to work.
In ll we have two phone main bases (different sets, making six handsets...four in the super range two I t the normal range. Srill not enough.

Ok, she's alive.

The world wouldn't be right If Alfie were not ok. I was going to call her I was getting so worried .0 -
I've texted her, too. I love Alflostinrates wrote: »Ok, she's alive.

It was worth asking, just in case! We missed a gorgeous one at a fair recently that unfortunately was sold just moments before we saw it
We have the same issue as LIR, in that our phones only work in around two thirds of the kitchen (plus most of the rest of the house, although not tried the old annexe as it's not in use yet
). We did have extra phone sockets put in when we rewired last year, but as only certain parts of the house are useable we haven't really bothered to plug phones in everywhere.....
It doesn't help that DH is always playing loud music - usually Mr Numan, as is the case right now, lol - and also suffers from selective hearing :rotfl:
The things I'm talking about are DECT Repeaters which plug into the mains electric circuit. They don't need phone sockets.
We only have one main phone socket (where the base is plugged in) & one extension socket (which has a corded phone so that we still have a working phone if power goes down).
Most of our cordless phone extensions just plug into the electric sockets.
Edit: Actually, I forgot there is another phone socket at the other end of the house which we used to use when we had 2 numbers - one for the internet before broadband was invented :rotfl: When broadband became available we dropped the second line but the socket is still in situ as is another in an outbuilding which was used for a payphone for the visitors.
It would be easier if, as Dave pointed out, there was a mobile signal but that's not an option, sadly. However, we can send & receive written texts via our landline so have almost reached the 21st century

WOW Davesnave I have been up a while,( went to sleep late, very bad headache all night) but did you go to bed late or get up early? seen your post at 3.12am on another thread..

Yesturday's event went ok... Just made me realise, I so cant wait to get out of the flipping rat race... how petty people can be, AND the worse thing is I found myself being sucked in by it all.
We have booked and paid for the hire of the place for Feb, and march, so have already planned our revenge retail attack on her/them, as I should imagine there will be there on those dates too..
Right off to have a nice cuppa, and some porridge and get ready for the royal welsh winter show... 'heaven' will try and remember to take a cameraWork to live= not live to work0 -

I have this thing called a cat. It wakes me up, goes out for 10 minutes, and then, being old, wants in again.
I was just intending to read, but I couldn't resist that one.....:rotfl:0 -
When is the Royal Welsh, CTC? I'd love to go, but Builth is such a trek for us. I'll be going to the Poultry Show in Hwlffordd though in JanuaryCOOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »WOW Davesnave I have been up a while,( went to sleep late, very bad headache all night) but did you go to bed late or get up early? seen your post at 3.12am on another thread..
