Daydream thread... without the rose-tinted specs

Back lawn got done. It was too wet really and I made a bit of mud, but it leaves only in front of the house, and the track to do now. Track will be the last one, I only cut it for neat ness, its not necessary, and I'll leave it on a long setting anyway, and I'll do it when its drier.
Verge is dh's problem. My mower cannot do it:(. (One day if we are flush I might ask the council if I can get the digger man to lower the whole thing. If it weren't right on a bend I'd have gorilla gardened a tree onto the end of our verge by now to shield the house a little. Something tenacious and native that could cope with a bit of damp if it went in the ditch edge.
Sadly it IS on a bend, and a bend that has a drive way that a tractor uses ...so it would be dangerous. But I still love the idea......0 -

DD1 just 'phoned to say their offer on the house I posted here a week or so ago has been accepted. :T
She opened with: "We took your advice and bought the worst house on the best street."
Took my advice? That's a first! :rotfl:
Oh dear, I hope those words don't come back to haunt me!:eek:0 -

I admire you phoebe, doing all that work when you plan to move on! Glad it's coming together anyway.
We're not looking forward to the building bit at all, and we certainly wouldn't be doing so much if we had intentions of leaving here.
It took a long time for me to commit to this place:o, so we're running late. OTOH at least we know what we want now.
Rummer, count to ten .....thousand?
CTC, I too hope that Better Days is having a few better days and will soon report that all's well.0 -

I have the ideal get out for that; it's called this place! :rotfl:
At present, I'm just reminding them it's not over till contracts are exchanged, but I'll be keen to see it asap on something other than Street View.
They do have a very long garden there, which is one thing they wanted, as they're into growing, cooking, brewing etc.
I have to remind myself that this is the daughter who hated working on our 'boring' plant stall! :rotfl:0 -
I keep thinking about coming onto this thread but the large number of pages has been putting me off. so today I decided to delve in and not bother reading what has gone before. Currently have two young allotments and currently transforming the front garden to be more productive. The back garden is over run by chickens.
Planning on a big move when the step daughter leaves school (5 /6 years time). that will be to a smallholding/ rural place. Unless we can find something affordable before then within an hour of her (very very unlikely).0 -
Welcome
Thing do not half rattle on this thread; just skimmed through the "back-log" myself.
