I'm fine thank you CTC and Dave
:)
Only been dipping in and out of the forums this week as been very tired. Have tried to keep up with all your news though, I always enjoy reading your 'daydreaming tales'
Had 'pre-exchange' viewing of house today. Spent a happy few minutes deciding where we are going to do our 'square foot garden' thanks Alexelisey :AVendor has decided to proceed with the sale even though her onward purchase still hasn't got the easement sorted. Have agreed to complete at the end of the month and should exchange tomorrow.
Welcome welovemarmite. There is some very entertaining chicken talk on this thread - Dave's chickens rush round his shed like a racetrack! There's a great photo of them way back on the thread
phoebe1989seb so pleased to hear you are making such good progress with your plumbing
alfie - wonderful photo, the lace on that dress is very pretty
RAS - interesting to read your seed experiences, would love to try growing mangetout next year - are they easy?
Dave - exciting news for your DD :T
CTC - Piggy !!!!!! That made me giggle
Rummer - hope your energy levels are improving
LIR - DH must have mowed the lawn for the 'last time this autumn' about 4 times now. Bloomin' grass just keeps on growing. Will watch with interest your garden plan developing.....
IHS - Sounds like you will be getting frosts soon from the weather forecast, getting chilly here too - but worth it when the days are sunny
Sorry if I have missed anyone in my catch up - keep warm daydreamers :grouphug:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

BD - great to hear you are that close to exchange.......fingers crossed for tomorrow
Dave - sounds as though DD is pretty savvy when it comes to house-buying, hope it all works out for her
Rummer - do hope things start to improve for you very soon
Our DS isn't having a great time at the mo - whilst his Shabby Chic furniture is selling like hot cakes, he can't keep up with demand and doesn't have the space to do larger pieces at home (hence being here last week to work on stuff we've *stored* for him) Unfortunately though, he's spending his profits travelling to and fro rather than reinvesting in the business - a vicious circle really. It's wrong of me I know, but I can't help thinking it was a waste of time my parents putting him through expensive independent education and that his three years at uni were for nothing......all he really wants to do is sell the London flat and buy a small holding - maybe it should be him on this thread not me, lol
;)
Hugs to Daydreamers new & oldMortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0 -
morning all:j
been up for over an hour, Just can't get used to the clocks going back, by the time I do, they will be going forward again lol
I think I have said this before, but our 'paul the pig' every time we put fresh straw into his bed, he grabs mouthfuls, and tries to push it through the fence to the boglins.. it really does pull at your heart strings....Work to live= not live to work0 -

We find that we need to analyse our business costs from time to time to cut out unproductive expenditure. Business mileage, calculated at HMRC rates, means we dont usually go far afield to auctions and, if we do, we know we have to spend a lot to make up for extra costs. Keeping track of results from different auction houses has helped us to concentrate on those which offer best returns after costs are deducted0 -
Welcome to welovemarmite! You will pick up what we're all doing very quickly, don't worry. Reading the past threads is certainly NOT essential (and will take hours :rotfl:). How many chickens do you have at the moment? Which part of the UK are you in?
BD - fingers crossed for the exchange, you must let us know as soon as it's gone ahead then we can all :j
Dave - great news for the daughter, that piece of advice is a good'un for anyone to remember
Lucielle - is DS1 having a better week than last?
CTC - I don't understand what's wrong with people, the countryside has to be "working" or it's just sterile and barren and will cease to exist as we know it. Stupid townies
Rummer - just keep taking things on the chin honey, things will start looking up soon!
LIR - don't overdo it with the mower and everything. We have a damp chimney but we think it's been coming in round the stack and through the pointing rather than lack of warm air going up it.
Itsme - keep warm over there!
Phoebe - how exciting! I hope it's all done for Christmas
Alfie - we miss you, get t'internet and stuff fixed!
Did I miss anyone else's news? Rhiwie good finds at the boot sale, Choille finally getting some physio...? Sorry if I've forgotten anything else important that's come up.
Still no job for me but I'm not going to give up.

I would have preferred her to go straight for a 3 bed, but this one can be adapted.....at a price! Can't they all!
You have no idea how hard it has been for me to stand back and not set up any Rightmove searches in her area!:rotfl:
However, having had others interfere in a most unhelpful way during our own house hunting, I know better than to poke my nose in.
Say no more!!!!:mad::mad::mad:0 -
Welovemarmite, if you have chickens that's all you need to get into this thread.
Indeed, we'll even settle for virtual chickens, which are less of a tie and not subject to the same ailments and predators as the real thing.
'Virtual Chicken Farm' Hmmmm..... perhaps not quite as appealing to kids as 'Theme Hospital?'
'Grand Theft Chicken?' Nah, it'll never catch on!:o

I have 14 chickens at the moment. That will be around our limit for now. When the dream place comes along, pigs, goats, more chickens..... and veggies galore, oh and lots of country wine making (although ironically I am tee total but love making the wine)0

oh and currently the oxon/northants border..0

Does that mean I have to leave
Another cold and frosty morning today and I love how clear and crisp it makes the world. I am starting to feel slightly better so going to try and do a bit more today and see if I can get back to normal a bit faster. Before you say, yes I will be sensibleTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0
