Does that mean I have to leave
Another cold and frosty morning today and I love how clear and crisp it makes the world. I am starting to feel slightly better so going to try and do a bit more today and see if I can get back to normal a bit faster. Before you say, yes I will be sensible
Rummer, YOU are an incubator.

Oh I love the thought that I have shares in so many animals
After being attacked by a chicken during my brief chicken sitting experience I am reluctant to have our own. Plus the costs outweighed the gain for us herevirtual chickens it is for me

I really enjoy mucking out too, mind you only if it is shavings I really am not a fan of mucking out straw.

Dunno, but I'd love to find someone with sheep or alpacas and decent electric who wanted to share my grazing for a couple of weeks now.......just tidy up my summer grazing before Christmas..........0 -
LIR would you not consider having some alpacas or sheep of your own? Just from a pasture management point of view of course
I have been pottering about this morning and doing a few bits and pieces and now I am settled down with a cuppa and a biscuit before doing a bit more. So far my body is coping well so I am hopeful that I have turned a corner :j Did you all notice I am bit of a diva when I am ill :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

No. I dislike sheep as a species. Even when I like individuals. Sheep are hard work to financial reward ratio and another tie. Alpacas are ....I'm not sure. Tbh, I don't really get the point of them, There is an alpaca breeder in the village and the main point seems to be to breed to sell as pets. I like the fox guard potential but tbh, I have concerns about the rate at which alpaca keeping has taken off and wonder what will happen in the future. I'd be prepared to BOARD alpacas I suppose, if someone wanted alpaca livery:). It would be fun........
Really I could do WIth finding a local smallholder who struggles for grazing to do swaps its with. A freezer lamb for some grazing or barn space for early lambing.0 -

Alpaca DNA in Tesco Value Burgers?
Just had someone ring me for Pete's phone number. They want a bit of fencing done. Hmmmm, they're not the only ones!
I said, "Probably not this side of Christmas...":o
I think they want 'posh' fence anyway.0 -
Hi all still here, yes DS1 is having a better week and now owns Clarissa Cleo. I'm having a crap week with mum problems. She's just been evicted from the care home, we've spent ages sorting and that was after only an hour of being there.

I admire you phoebe, doing all that work when you plan to move on! Glad it's coming together anyway.
We're not looking forward to the building bit at all, and we certainly wouldn't be doing so much if we had intentions of leaving here.
Sorry Dave, I omitted to respond to this last night.....was feeling a bit frazzled, partly as DS had just informed us that he'd had a particularly hairy journey from here to Bournemouth in his Landy to the GF's family the other night. He only discovered the true extent of just how hairy it was after taking it in for a service yesterday and discovering that apart from other issues (for which £775 was borrowed from the bank of mum & dad) a wheel was close to coming off  He confessed that he was truly scared driving down though......my poor baby is definitely having a bad time at the mo
Yes, regarding the house we are possibly doing too much to get it up together and ready for sale - as usual- it's just our way I s'pose! I personally haven't taken to the house or the area tbh, but unfortunately DH loves both and would stay here forever if he only had himself to consider. The thatch is something I'd avoid in future too - even though ours was re-done immediately prior to marketing by the PO.
Sorry if I came across as really grumpy/possessive mother type re:DS too - it's just that for him to have worked really hard to obtain 3 As and 1 B at A level, struggling through three years at a different uni from his GF and their relationship serving against the odds, obtaining a decent 2:1 in Philosophy (yeah, I know!), then getting a good graduate job in a London law firm, only to give it up to paint/restore furniture for a pittance seems such a waste
Anyhoo, he's gorgeous, safe, healthy and we love him to bits - they're the most important things
Regarding Alpacas, there are some quite near us - Charlton Alpacas - and apart from being gorgeous (IMHO, but then I adore Sheep too), their wool is used to produce lovely cosy socks......just google them and you'll see what I mean
Rhiwie - thanks for the advice re : HMRC etc btw, I'll pass it on to DSMortgage-free for fourteen years!
