  • luceille, ditto choille, hope your mum goes to a better home.

rhiwie... I am sure somewhere there is a web page, which is like a pay to view type thing on a farm.. with webcams etc...

could do a night vision one.. and maybe we could catch choille unwanted visitor:) With us they would get mud, squirrels, and possible piggy !!!!!! in the future... and maybe if they are lucky a drunk person trying to walk home from the pub, using the footpath, through the trees etc:eek::eek: now that wouldn't be for the faint hearted... ( for the walker I mean, this has happened a fewtimes ).

Have had a stonking headache most of the day.. cant shift it...

Mrs A...what part of wales are you from??

BD yay:j:j:j:j:j think we should have a virtual moving in party for you:D:D

  • Virtual moving in party for BD - love the sound of that! We can all sit around on tea chests and drink cupsa tea with biskwits :T

BD soooooo pleased for you! You're finally getting somewhere! :j:j

Lucielle I hope mum is sorted now :( What a nightmare.

Rummer what channel was the programme with the lady and 6 goats on?

Did anyone see the thing on Channel 5 on Monday (it's on catch-up) about the lady with 40 cats, the lady with 60 chickens, the reptile man and the lady with 2000 hedgehogs? I think it was called "The woman with 40 cats and other pet hoarders"

Going out this morning ;) more later.

    Well done BD!!

40 cats in one house, no thanks

Did an auction preview yesterday which means we use the evening for research. Or would have done except that sales went a bit mental and we were up packing until late. None of the nice easy small stuff but tea sets and plate sets :rotfl::rotfl:. Off to courier drop off in a few minutes then its buy-buy hopefully.

Care homes usually put new residents on probation for the first 6 weeks, so it can appear that everything is sorted and then, bang, the review happens and the elderly person is assessed as not suitable.

I dare say this system is sensible, but it could also be subject to abuse, whereby care homes cherry pick 'easy' residents.

My Dad hadn't passed his probation period when he died. I was never clear if he would, though no one raised concerns. I felt that particular care home gave so much freedom, he'd be borderline, but for the same reason I knew he'd have been devastated if asked to leave. :(

Lucielle, sorry that you have this extra worry now.

Thanks CTC. Love the idea of a virtual moving in party :T:T:T
But Alexelisey we will have to make sure they are not virtual biskwits - will just have to force down the real ones from McVities :D

But will there be time with all the feeding, mucking out and care of the virtual goats, chickens, pigs, horses, alpaca's etc?

Still afterwards we will all be so exhausted we can have a virtual bubble bath maybe at phoebe1989seb's new bathroom?

CTC - hope your head is better today, not much you can do with a bad headache.

Dave - what happened to your back door?

lucielle - how are things today with your Mum? It must be emotionally exhausting trying to sort out care for her.

Now, time for a snooze, then making a start catching up with all my emails and paperwork and making lists. Still I will be able to recycle most of the lists from when we moved at the beginning of the year.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Wet today and not as chilly as it has been.

Quick health update. Doctor has figured out what is wrong, nothing serious, so I have been started on a new range of medication and should hopefully be better in a few weeks :D

Dave - what happened to your back door?.

It suddenly grew by 1/4 inch and wouldn't close, which is another way of saying that the sides were coming away from the middle and it was about to collapse.

Fortunately, I had a sash cramp in the barn, so I stuck that on it and pulled the sides back in,. Then I screwed some bits of 4" x 1" to it, front & back to hold it all in place. Not pretty, but it worked. :D

Basically, the doors the fitted to the conservatory are as bad as the conservatory itself. The other one's permanently closed already. I will have to scout around for another s/h one. :(

We still don't have a back door. :(. Till this ^*%_\|¥*}{^? Heating situation is resolved we can't put one on because the frame will have to be removed again anyway to get stuff in and out.

Because I don't have a floor down in the cheese room wing it means the doors are all about 70 mm above the current floor level, so lots of draughts. The internal door between utility and cheese room is current 'back door' and there is a card board tube acting as a draught excluder. I prefer a rolled rug but resident parent wanted the cardboard tube. Meh.
