Alfie - lovely kitchens - I love wood lining. Lived in cottages with that even on the ceiling. I got some old lining off a garden house from an estate that I used to garden. I do love butler's sinks, but OH reckons they're not up to it, but will get one.........even out of a field!0

LIR - lovely colour that. I'd not thought of one so light - being a mucky pup. I have some Oak furniture that will be in there too. I got 4 arts & crafts dining chairs the t'other week for £45. They are covered in red cloth which I'll whip off & recover - hark at me I don't even have a whole roof on or walls, but I have to keep dreaming as I'd go mad this Winter.
Have you got base cupboards or base and wall cupboards?
If you have both then I'd definite
Y consider doing then upper ones a paler colour than the base ones. Not to Brit, as it brings them forward, makes room seem smaller.
Choille, I plan bedrooms we're enot even building for years and years...let alone don't have a roof on them;)
As you see, keeps you sane. (Ish)0 -
Hi LIR - I think here may be upper/wall units, but I don't know if I like wall units. I rather like open shelves. The room is pretty tall - right up to the roof. 5m x 6m & has a cathedral roof. The units will be down the 6M length. The ceiling starts at 2.4 and starts at an angle of 45 degrees & goes up to 3.9 M. I would love something Architectural to hang up there.....like a boat hull, or whale skeleton, but that's me getting....cabin fever...again.0

No, I agree with with you absolutely. Aesthetically much better.
LOVE the idea of a whale skeleton. Sigh. Thank you for something stunning to think about, god bless your cabin fever!
Only thing with hanging something up in a kitchen is while it Looks great its always hard to clean. Grease and dust get everywhere. Then a bit of cat hair or dog hair.....:o
Ultimately I'm having nothing out at all when I get my finished kitchen. Its just going to be blank panelled walls and utter austerity broken only the lights and the art. When I have chosen them :rotfl:0 -

Chickens away at half three today. Already seems darker than last winter was, or is that just me?
Still, its still mild if you are out of the wind.
We're at that horrid stage its colder inside that out again. In the last word of luxury last night I left the heater on low in the kitchen last night so it would be less cold this morning, my joints needed it. The dog's room has a heater on low all the time and its really toasty, and even, much better than when I was tuning it on and off on high. It provides some heat to upstairs too. The rooms at the front of the house are COLD again.
STILL waiting for heating schematics etc from companies. I just don't know why its so hard to get these things. Its ok now, I'm worried about January though!0 -
:j:j:j Alex that is great news :j:j:j Congratulations!
Choille I am different to you in that I prefer cupboards, shelves I think look pretty but we are so untidy that I like hiding the clutter behind doorsTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I was in Barnstaple at half three, just coming out of the supermarket. It was so grim, I believed the clock in the van which was still on BST!
Our chickens are still spinning it out till 16.45! I'll forgive them though, because another hybrid laid her first egg today. Looks like we'll not need to buy any this winter! :j
Congratulations Alex. :TWith Christmas approaching, it will be good to have an income secured.0
