Oh rhiwfield. I'm sorry.
(Though have to admit, I love pink lady apples........and there is a yellow one they had out last year or the year before that was sublime. ).0 -
_pale_ I seem to be worse again today. So fed up of feeling grim. There is so much to do and I don't have time for this illness. Docs again tomorrow hopefully they will help.
Nothing to report other than sitting still and watching lots of mindless TV.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Maybe your body is telling you to slow down, Rummer, and perhaps because you haven't been listening, it's decided to take charge. Making babies is hard work!
I decided to give my body a rest today and forget trench-digging for a while, so I fiddled around with ideas to protect the orchard trees from sheep. It's obvious that Pete is well behind schedule on everything, so there's no chance of any fencing prior to their arrival.Similarly, there's no chance of me making wonderful fenced-off little areas around each tree!
Anyway, I remembered that we have a roll of very heavy duty windbreak, and this supports itself beautifully when cut into sections and made into big tubes. They are just like 1 metre high versions of those rabbit guards and there's no way a sheep will chew through them. I shall protect the main stems with those and take them off again in spring.0 -

Rummer please take care, I must admit when I have been ill etc, I really have got to push myself to go and do something, but I do feel my energy levels go back up...
I cant remember ( sorry:o) did you say you had another kiddie? how old are they? could they help you around the house etc?
re Christmas pressies... lol DIY smallholding books my boys would just throw them back at me... TBH they have no interest in the ranch...I normally buy pants and pj's, smellies etc for them.Work to live= not live to work0 -
Clearview repair has passed cat seal of approval.
Would a choose a woodburner in a reception room of a period home by choice? Nope, but yeah.....the repair does seem to have made a big difference! Clearview, I apologise for cursing your name.0 -

Oh definitely!
My next role isn't a female one though.....nor is it the Hunchback of Notre Dame, which is where I was going with the trench work!:rotfl:0 -

I hate the amount of dust they create, but I wouldn't be without ours. Our gas coal fire did the business when we were in the city though, especially with no ash pan to empty or fuel to get in.
Clearview has a pretty good name to uphold.0 -

Seems a bit strange that they severed the heads. Antlers don't sell for that much money - well not here they don't- all seems a bit strange & wasteful. They can't use the meat just now as it'll be rank as they are in rut & it really taints the meat.
A couple of years back there have been poachers here using cross bows & really wounding animals & leaving them - It's pretty disgusting & needs stopping. There's also rustling happening - sign of the times, but not a thing you'd expect here, but it does. I know someone who had dozens of ducks stolen before Xmas a few years back & she reckoned that was for meat.0
