Rummer, are you sure 'essential supplies' weren't beer and bacon butties which have now turned into a lengthy break???

I thought it would maybe have been a combination of supplies and lunch however I hoped they would return :rotfl: I don't even have their number, OH does but he is in a meeting at work :rotfl:

Today alone has made me realise there is no way I could cope with having a whole house renovation done

You say "wear the fox hat" every day?
    It's what I normally say when I'm lost. ;)

It's been my user name (either abbreviated or in full) on several forums over a long time, and is even my handle with Lynn/Sally for traffic reports on Radio 2.

OH !! my thoughts were ....WHAT THE **** HAPPENED ;) :rotfl::rotfl:

I've been 'wearing my fox hat' quite a bit today, trying to find some screws that I began the job on the barn with......and ran out of. :(

    Soooo......

I went to Mole Valley......but it wasn't them.
I drove on to Barnstaple Wickes...but they only had peculiar ones.
OK, I tried Homebase......nah, that was a silly idea.
    Surely not B&Q?
.....Yesss!!! But it wasn't Old Fogey Wednesday, so no 10% off.

Then I made a huge error of judgement. I went into Sainsburys for two things and somehow spent £70. :o:o:o

Good job I stuffed my face full of chips first. I dread to think what would have happened if I'd gone in hungry! :rotfl:

PS I did get a few other things too. A 50 mile round trip (thanks Devon County Council!) for a box of screws would have been a bit indulgent!

Sounds like quite a day Dave

While the plumbers were busy in the bathroom I washed down and around the doors in the living room and it has made the room look a bit fresher. The bathroom will take a few days to finish but so far things are looking good if chaotic ;)

I have a DIY question for you all..... we painted the hall without putting masking tape over the wooden varnished window ledges which now have paint smudges on them. What is the best way to remove the paint? Sandpaper? It would just help the place look a bit more polished :D

if we are talking wall paint, get a non scratch scourer sponge thingy, hot water ,dot of washing up liquid on the paint and gently rub.... then wipe with a damp sponge. :D

when paint is dry not wet tho

A week of culniary delights for you Dave, curry two nights in a row, then chips :D . Mrs Dave away did you mention?;)
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Wrong. Curry 3 nights in a row! :o:o:o ....But, not the same type of curry. That would be unimaginative. :D

The chips were a test. I was last in that F&C shop in 1968, so I wanted to check if it was still up to scratch. :p

One of the things I bought in the supermarket was a tub of 'living lettuce.' I've been meaning to do that for a while, as the plants look as if they'd transplant easily enough. We are coming to the end of our older plants, and the winter lettuce is still rather small, so these might make a decent stop-gap. :)
