    I've been Money Tipped!
This morning I found a nest fallen from one of the horse chestnuts with two pretty well grown, but dead, squabs in it. It was upside down so they were like the wicked witch of the east.

The nest is amazingly constructed with a huge amount of my garden wire in it, I was sure I'd been losing some, But thought I was going batty.

The weather wasn't even that rough over night, I wonder what happened.
  • Sorting and packing here, as the deadline approaches fast. It's a lot to do and I don't feel quite right today, a bit like I'm not fully in my body. Might be stress, or tiredness. I shall be glad in a few weeks when all this is settled!

My sympathies to the poorly ones! Keep it over there though eh, I'll be exposed to other people's germs on the plane as it is ;)

Ghastly weather predicted has arrived, bang on time. This will get the rivers up. Perhaps clearing the stream was a waste of time, but at least my neighbours below won't get quite so much debris.

Our County Council is still in the middle of major repairs caused by last winter's floods. Only they know why the autumn was chosen for that! :(

Hope everyone feels a bit better soon.

Dave, weather has hit here too, miserable as sin outside.

Garden winding down and looking a bit of a mess. At least all the apples are now in store.

For the Bayers on the thread, I can confirm that crimbo season has started, a lot of sales over last two days and a lot going abroad. Changes to the Bay last month meant we switched to mainly BINs with free posting and we've been busy ever since we came back off hols in mid Sept. Vintage oddities selling well, so it is always best to check to see what sells before stuff gets chucked.

The rain has finally stopped at the world is wet and fresh :D

I am feeling better today which is a huge relief. Still house/couch bound but at least I can make myself a cuppa now without it being a huge achievement :D

Finally work is due to start on the bathroom and I am ridiculously excited. OH and I keep waxing lyrical about hot running water and baths :rotfl:

Winter = Can't work - too cold, too wet, too windy, too few daylight hours.
Spring = Providing it's not too cold, too wet, too windy then efforts are made but there's usually not enough time before summer to finish
Summer = Could do it but would be lynched by every business in Devon & Cornwall. "What planet are you on to disrupt the tourism season". Also most of the workers are probably off to the beach themselves.
Autumn = Providing it's not too cold, too wet or too windy then it's 'may as well give it a go until the clocks change' :D

Bad weather passed through this morning. Everywhere is soaking & the wind is still up but there's just enough blue for a sailor's trousers up there now.

Ah. Sorry about the squabs, LIR. Unfortunately, the mental picture from your description had me smiling. I'm picturing something like a cartoon nest surrounded by it's own little garden wire fence with chicken-type feet sticking out from under it :o :rotfl:
