We are living in one of the last wildernesses in Europe & it's surprising what lurks about. I think that because we have pretty much no agriculture here on the West because of the terrain - in the main, there's little or no pesticide use. It's one of the reasons that attracted me to this god forsaken place!
Your moths - great photo by the way -I've seen rather copious amounts of in conga type lines
nose to nether end in lengthy lines yards long - crossing roads, climbing trees - all following the leader nose to tail. Nature is quite clever really.0 -
peeps......
if there was one chap who was now working away and eventually emigrating that was very nice but ......not around much
AND there was another chap who is a dedicated animal lover, nutter, campervan restorer/driver but lives 40 miles away but has free time....

I wouldn't worry IHS, I drive past my next Christmas tree almost every day of the year! It's growing in the valley with hundreds of others:
We live just over the ridge.
Although parts of the valley have been tampered with, the slope and the poorer soils mean that much of it is still largely untouched. So, although it's not a wilderness, we do have many acres of ancient forest within 1/4 mile. The rest is horrible pine.
The plateau where we are is largely arable, with all that implies, but a few neighbouring farmers and ourselves still keep to the sheep/cattle, hay/ silage routine with minimal pesticide/fertilizer use. Tisn't wonderful, and there's scope for improvement, but it's a decent compromise.0 -

YES thank you ,,, the part day of me having a ME day was good, acutally bought make-up AND some clothes:eek::eek::eek:
More or less ready to set off for Exeter.. for the craft event... its Thursday to sunday.. never done a 4 day event before, did do a 3 dayer before will hard going... god help the customers on sunday, think I will be so tired and ratty, they better not say the wrong thing.. also thing the smile will be just a forced clench of the face by then too:rotfl::rotfl: have we got enough stock, no, have I forgotten stuff?? PROB YES!!!
Alfie... I wrote a letter to the landlord and their management company this week, due to the problems we are having with a neighbouring unit holder, we can't trade/use one of the units we lease due to the noxious smell of Fibre glass resin:mad::mad::mad:..they have no filter/extraction fans etc... I have given then 28 days to sort it.. they have already had 6 months.. Its killing us financially now, as that unit can not generate any money.. due to the smell/fumes..
Right off to have a quick bath... before we leave..Work to live= not live to work0 -
I'm home.
I said 'I've had an easy year, and a day off, my day tomorrow starts at 6.23 am, so I'll be outta here at about 5.40 if that's ok.....'
They said...'this is not a day off!' I said...are you kidding? I even get the whole bed to myself......no hanging off the edge..
The animals were excited when I got home, kiwi minced over doing his best grin till big dog pushed him out of the way, dog dog danced at the back waiting for her kiss and Hugo. Then the cats climbed up my legs and yelled in my ears and are now ignoring me.
Chickens and geese and horses didn't notice I don't think.....0
