been attacked by a young cockerel, or should I say a young dinner.

Good you are getting some eggs Dave. I wouldn't dare put problem hens in a sale. Mind you there's only two a year & they print your name & address, so I'd get a brick through the window...............

This new camera is so dinky it's a fiddly job using it - with ma gut big lumber-jack paws;-) It does seem that ebay had a glitch yesterday & many peoples' photos didn't load - even on re-lists.

Great - and with all the camera talk did you take a photo of the egg???.

No, it's just 'an egg,' but if we get one that's blue or green I will. ;)

Speaking of unwelcome insect visitors, we seem to be winning against the carpet moths, using nothing more than ant powder and fly spray. :)

Quite fortunate that we have so much ant powder, but in my Dad's latter years the little devils which invaded his conservatory were viewed as ever more sinister. So, he bought ant killer, more ant killer, further ant killer and so on, never remembering he already had loads in the shed.....:o

Our Maran boy's behaviour will be monitored. One false move....but he does look as if he'll be handsome.

There's a sale every week here. If someone actually writes the name of the breed on the cage, that's more info than usual! :rotfl:

My late Dad was the same with limescale remover. After he passed away we found bottles and bottles of the stuff under the sink. He never seemed to use any of it though, lots of limescale on the taps and sinks.

He also had 100's of carrier bags, well probably 1,000's. They were neatly folded on top of each other in the pantry. And at least 50 of those large match boxes. Good job I checked them, found over £1,000 in one and a few hundred pound in another. He had been putting his pension money in the match boxes insead of his wallet or the bank. He passed away in 2009 so his instinct not to trust banks was probably a good one!

I am sitting quietly in the depths of chaos trying to pretend I won't have to deal with it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

There is stuff everywhere at the minute and it is like an assault course trying to travel across my bedroom  However it is a purposeful mess as we are clearing out and moving things to different places.

Mercifully there is someone coming to give us another quote for the bathroom so fingers crossed we get that ticked off the list soon :D

Hang in there, it will be worth it when it is done, and everything is ready for Rumlet. :)

We're still using the very last cake of soap from my parents' home at the caravan. We only finished the rest of it at the house about 6 months ago! I'm afraid we ditched the millions of tins of pineapple though!

I've found uploading photos on to the Bay can take ages. Even though they have stopped charging for most photos I still like embedding photos in the description using a storage site like Photobucket.

I've noticed that, as we get older, we need bigger buttons on mobiles, even the Satnav is now king size :o. Miniaturisation of things can be a right pain and, if you dont need mobile tech, a desktop with a big screen and decent keyboard and mouse beats a laptop hands down and a tablet is a waste of time for office work.

Pleased with these two plants in the wettest part of the garden - Acorus gramineus 'Ogon' or Japanese rush. It may prefer a sunnier position, but so far seems OK here and brightens up that part of the garden

My father always reckoned that if you laid down fresh newsprint each day you got rid of carpet maggots, but since then they've changed over to veg based inks so I don't know if that makes a difference. My father was a printer to trade.
Ants: you can find out their route by sprinkling down flour to trace how they are getting in but you won't get shut of them - not ever nor ever again..........Often they live under a door step. We have a lot on the croft & digging in the veg beds I usually unearth a load. They then seem to shift eggs & there's a hurry of activity. I think they keep aphids like cows & milk them!
One wee youngster Scot's Grey like eating slugs. I once lost a wee chick that choked on one even though I tried to dislodge it with a screw driver. It was horrible to see & to be able to do nothing.
