Kent is beneath East London on a map, isn't it? That's all I know!
Most of the bottom right hand corner of England really too, not just the bit below East London. I'm to the east of South East London - Kent postal town, Kent postcode, London borough. I think this place has either an identity crisis or an inferiority complex :rotfl:I've been here 9 years and still not decided which...
Then there's "proper" Kent - Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury, Sevenoaks, Margate, Dover... or, more to your interest Dave, West Malling and Brogdale!"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -

Still got builders in, so I don't want to lay it till they are finished! But yes, bring it, I'll bake a cake. We have your boots here!
Btw,....you shouldn't be offering to help lay carpet with a dodgy wrist. Grrrrerrrrr.0 -

Bit if slow start for me today, went for a curry with the lads after work...must get going and make full use of 4-day holiday weekend in Scotland!
Too wet for outside today, so it's cleaning kitchen and bathroom0 -
Head down and hard at work over last fortnight and it's paying off
. Good luck on your trip CTC!
Family staying later so it will be enforced leave, though with two toddlers it will be a different kind of work!
MIL's behaviour continues to be very erratic and it has been officially confirmed that she needs to has to have 24 hour care, so it will be lots of trips up north to sort out her affairs. It's going to cost a small fortune to sort things out, will need to find out whether these expenses can be deducted from proceeds of assets sold0 -
Huh! By the time I'd done my basic duties, attended a coffee morning and run my DD to the station it was more or less lunchtime.
This afternoon I continued clearing the stream, but there seemed to be a much larger amount of dead stuff to pick up than there ought to be. Then I looked up......The neighbouring farmer, who shares the stream, had been along at some point and flailed my trees; something he'd not been able to do in the past. My tidying had allowed him to push the electric fencing back, giving him another 6' or so of reach!
Frankly, I felt a bit fed up.You do your best, and then people like him just do what they want, without thought. But there's no point grumbling, I'm just going to build a bit of an obstruction where most of the remaining larger sticks and branches will lodge in the next few months and collect them from there. I'm done with tidying his side!
I forgot CTC is in Exeter this weekend. Well, she's got some nice but breezy weather for the camping bit.:)
Hope your DW has Power of attorney, rhiwfield. Makes things like you are going through so much easier financially.0 -

Does anyone have POA re MIL? That person can pay the cost of transport etc out of the accounts. They need to keep a log of the expenditure.
I think it has to be actual additional costs of petrol etc rather than mileage. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
