im sat here looking at the sun coming through my lounge window and looking at my fireplace all laid ready to light...:rotfl:
its getting chilly and its only a match away from being lit BUT i get a hot water bottle, rug and cuppa tea and resist the urge to ignite it......for now...:D
good girl, remember its only the first week in September, if you light the fire now, its going to be a loooooong winter:o.
We are cuurently watching the Italian grand prix:cool::D, in between washing the dishes and clearing upWork to live= not live to work0 -

its a DO I DONT I moment...:o:o
would help if i got off my butt and did something !!:D0 -
It's 20C in here ATM, so I'm hardly cold, but we can't go lighting the fire anyway until I've swept the chimney.
I'm processing peppers and toms today. I was going to mow the orchard, but we had an hour of rain, so it will have to wait. everything looks much better for the drenching, but the stream isn't streaming and the river looks unchanged.
Great picture Better Days. Those two understand each other! I'm afraid only Eric ferret understood cats. Wilf ferret would just think other creatures were up for playtime too, so given the chance, he'd launch himself onto any available cat. Ours tried, but failed to be understanding! :rotfl:0 -
No option of heat here.
But think I might be cracking and resolving to put an oil boiler back in. I just don't know what to do. But I'm already suffering with the old winter nipple, and my hands and feet and been blue all day..
I got a wee bit emotional yesterday with various other things and said i could cope with it all if we still had an immersion heater for a bloody bath.
Our planning specifically discussed and excluded oil and gas tanks, so I have some decisions to take about calling the council this week and explaining, or maybe just.....being brazen on a long term temporary basis of need.0 -
LIR It is horrid being cold and without hot water. As I mentioned before our boiler is prone to dying on us, especially near or on Christmas day and we have gone months at a time with no heating and hot water and it is awful. I hope you reach a solution soon.
Well I finally made it off the couch :rotfl: went to the supermarket then I came home and have tidied the garden, painted the tiles in the kitchen and potted out some plants :j Now I am back on the couch :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Sorry peeps!
CH on as well as Aga. Down to 5C here last night but snug as a bug in a rug
CTC, went overboard on some Aussie pottery at the auction but have picked up 6 John Campbell Tasmania pieces (+ some other stuff) for about £90 so fairly happy. Promised DW that we wouldn't buy any more stuff and just chill out so went for a walk along the walls this bright sunny morning. Only to find a car boot at Castlegate :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Chubb locks and various tins bought
Cooked my first Aga toast today, good fun but a toaster is easier.
If anyone fancies a luxury break then this place is just great, look up Thomas Sword Good house in Berwick0 -
Also painted some of the radiators, it is amazing what a lick of paint can doTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Snap to both
No heating on here yet. It's definitely nippier in the mornings. The bare feet aren't happy morning & night now so I've dug out the towelling mules
I'd much rather be at Monza.0 -
:o :whistle: A MOUSE JUST RAN IN, SHIVERED AND THREW A LIT MATCH AT THE FIRE PLACE. I WAS NOT QUICK ENOUGH TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES SO I WILL HAVE TO ENDURE THE TEMPERATURE RISING ON MY COLD TOOTSIES.....
_party__party_:dance:
OF COURSE I WILL TELL THE MOUSE TO NOT DO IT AGAIN..;)0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What a naughty mouse!!!
At least you have warm feet now. Was seriously tempted to buy a heated throw last winter, and I suspect the temptation will come again

.....but maybe a mouse will run into the house, throw me a throw and run out again :cool:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
