Been taking some time out to recharge and I am now feeling better and am ready to get going again :D

This weekend we are hoping to get out into the garden and get some tidying up done. I have started to think about planting my tubs for next year as I want them to have flowers in the and look beautiful as I will be spending a lot of time around the house next year ;)

Just on what you were saying CTC I am watching the Tonight programme and it is really making me think about the ways in which our diet could be improved. Our meals are cooked from scratch but there is always room for improvement and I am guilty of snacking on less than healthy foods :o although current health issues have had a positive impact as I am eating far less rubbish.

Now this is a daydream item as the house purchase is in its early stages, but still a Norweigan woodburner http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300949670984?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

And does she wee in your shoes as well?

I knew about confused older human males waking in the night and peeing in the wardrobe, but I didn't reckon on having a feline equivalent. :(

    Ohh big ouch alfie. :(:(:(
Hope you got some sleep and not too sore today.

My kitties are young and don't wee in my shoes
But one of them does wee in the dog beds - not an endearing habit...... a little cat wee goes a very long way.......and I suppose even further Dave if you walk in the 'weed in' shoes.

Skim read the posts! Cat fleas, we no longer have a cat but I can well remember the lines of flea bites when we had

    Alf, ouch!!

CTC, your place is starting to look grand.

Isnt fruit and veg cheap? Only £1.10 for a 600g swede from Tesco yesterday, what a bargain . Nx year swede will be one of the crops!

We're still using the new potatoes sown earlier this year but the broad beans are now too tough to eat and we'll be seed saving from those--Dave, when should we depod these?

Apples are just beginning to ripen and some trees are laden. Pears aren't ripe yet, greengage a week or two off. Will be setting up garage storage again for the surpluses.

Not a great deal happening here. DS1 and fiance flying home from Wellington after a big quake yesterday. Wedding in two weeks, then a holiday break.

Opened an Ebay shop yesterday which is still to be populated by prior listings. I'm resigned to the Ebay extortion on new FVF fees in September and will reluctantly switch to a BIN/BO main format and sustained listings, about 250 a month. Two months taking it easy on sales has seen income fall dramatically and we need to get back on track as we've had to raid savings with so much money going out :o

Errrr.....:o DW doesn't like broad beans, so I don't grow them. I would imagine you do the same as for peas, let them over-ripen on the plant, remove, dry in the pod in a warm place and then shell.

I have grown some French beans. DW still doesn't like them much, so I probably won't bother again. :(

Still raving about the Floridity tomatoes.:j They may be expensive F1, but they're worth it. They started to get blossom end rot, so I upped the feeding and that seems to have sorted it.

Not much news. I was still cutting grass at 8pm last night in anticipation of today's rain, which hasn't arrived yet.

Raiding savings has been happening here for a long time. The OAP next year is going to be a life-saver. Never imagined I'd be pulling my house to bits and picking up my pension in the same year.....:rotfl:

Luckily, they were my weedin' shoes, not my good ones! :rotfl:
