a dog was found up on the main cross roads near me this morning and i took it in 8am. i dashed to the vets...no micro chip... so i rang round and seemed no body knew it. i put notices up in the forest car parks in this area incase owners were tourists.then took this elderly terrier to tith me... i left field at 4pm, toured round neighberhood and FOUND the owner in a house...she didnt even know her dog was missing...  it was 14, deaf and daft and she just said "oh she must have got out of her kennel"... i could not believe a dog could be missing for over 8 hours and she didnt notice !! poor old gal....:(

anyway thats been my day !!

You can have ours if you like. :p

We went to Okehampton with the idea of having a walk, getting chook food, seeing the glass company about the patio door I broke and fetching essential foodstuffs.

Well, thanks to the weather, the walk didn't happen, but we sat in the car, ate lunch and looked at the trees where we would have walked.:o Then we did the tasks we'd set and briefly explored Okehampton.

I'd explored it before, but pretended I hadn't. It's mainly estate agents, junk shops (sorry rhiwfield!) and arty places full of stuff no one really needs. Despite that, DW found a plant that was much cheaper than in any garden centre.:A

At least you didn't lose valuable outdoor time. I hope it all went as well as it could. :)

    Just catching up.

Hope all went well at the hospital LIR. I am always more worried about picking up a nasty bug as anything like that knocks me for six, so I spend my time giving 'Paddington Hard Stares' to anyone who looks vaguely symptomatic, and asking my husband to move me away from sneezing children :rotfl:

Oh what big barns you have Dave ;) and what potential glory holes for 'useful' things they will be.

Alfie - can't believe someone lost their dog for 8 hours and didn't notice. Especially an 'oldie'. Poor thing.

I'm still recovering from my op a few weeks ago, so getting very little done. Unlike the bloody fleas which have bitten me again. Checked the calender and it is exactly a month since the cats were frontlined, so it will be on with the rubber gloves to do it again later today.

And Nelson kindly bought me in a mouse again yesterday - more scrabbling around to catch it before it ran under an unmovable object. In our last house I once walked into the bedroom to find two cats and one of the dogs staring at the wardrobe. Knowing there wasn't a bit of rump steak inside we took out the bottom drawers and found a tiny little shrew. It was so fast, not an easy one to catch - and it is always me that has to do it - DH is a city boy, and despite living in Suffolk for over 20 years is scared of little furry things :eek:

House purchase seems to be going through. Survey booked for Monday and EA seems to think we will complete in a month :rotfl::rotfl:Solicitors, surveyors bank etc all saying it is very busy atm so I can't see it happening, but we will see.

Sounds positive on the house purchase this time, Better Days.
Various people are blatantly talking the market up now, so it is a good time to be 'sorted.' :)

Here, I have had reassurances today that the Pole will be shifted to the point we agreed and a new map to confirm this will be sent. Hmmm......:undecided

Daisy, our unwell cat, won't be bringing us any more furry things. She is slowly slipping away, but seems not in any pain. She has discovered that there are things like chicken and fish, all hidden from her these past 17 years....:o

FLEAS......... Spray your house...too many chemicals on your moggy/doggy's is NOT GOOD !! dont assume that the cats flea shield is down, fleas cadge lifts and wait for the "next bus" to come along....:o

i spray my house top to bottom spring and autumn and i/anyone, can honestly say have never seen/been bitten by a blighter ...[unless they havent told me !!;) ]

well i am trying to hack back an area for these new chooks to occupy. i cant free range em as goose googins is like "marlon brando" guarding his garden/pond... and retaliates all guns blazing to anyone/thing daring to venture into his domain ...:rotfl::rotfl: except me :D:D

Ah Daisy, bless her. :A Our 19yo kitty Frank :A, spent the last 6 months of his life 99% asleep in a warm spot by the boiler. We also tempted his palette with all manner of tasty delicacies including tuna and chicken. In the end we had him pts as he became incontinent and I didn't want his skin to get urine scalded or put him in a kitty nappy. He was very frail by then and had had a very good innings.

'Polegate' seems to be progressing, though from what you have said Dave, I am not sure in which direction :D

Alfie - Looking forward to seeing pics of your new area for the chucks - and they will happily scratch away a lot of plants anyway. Unfortunately I am unable to tolerate the flea sprays for the house. They make me feel very ill indeed even days later and give me breathing difficulties. So it has to be frontline or the like on the cats and dogs, although I would rather not have to use it.

Raining here today, a nice steady heavy drizzle which I hope will soak into the soil and pots.
