I did get fed up for a while with PC gaming a couple of years ago when I was needing to spend more time trying to get games running than playing them due to daft DRM systems, launch day issues, graphics driver issues and other problems but I don't find that's the case any more. Most games run without any issues at all and most games natively support the Xbox 360 controller which is welcome where the keyboard/mouse isn't suitable. I also find there's much less need to update hardware than there used to be previously, my current system is approaching two years old and it's still running everything at 1440p with AA and 60 frames per second while the PS4/Xbox One are still struggling with 720/1080 and framerates.

It should only get better for the PC now both the consoles are using very similar hardware and from the last generation, consoles have lost some of their convenience now that the systems and games need patches which can be hefty even on launch day.

  • both the xbox one and ps4 are based on pc tech that is already outdated. low end cpu (less performance than a i3) and a mid range gfx card.

Just seen that steam has more active accounts than xbox live
    Steam 65 mil
    xbox 48 mil.

thats not taking into account battle.net/origin(ea) and the others, far from a dying platform.
