With both Sony and Microsoft gearing up to release their new consoles by the end of this year, the technology world is buzzing with anticipation.
Both gaming giants with hugely successful console histories, the new Playstation 4 and XBox One are about to go head to head. Both are pitched as incorporating the best in modern gaming technology but with the XBox set to retail at £429 and the PS4 at £349, we want to know which you think is the best value for money and which is going to come out on top in the battle of the consoles!

I've got a 360, but I've gone for PS4 on the basis:
1) Cheaper.
2) I *really* dislike MS insisting you be connected to the internet for it to work.
3) I dislike not being able to borrow other people's games (which I often then buy having tried)
That said
1) I have a lot of doubt about whether Sony will actually deliver the PS4 at anything like the same time MS release the One.
2) I think the xbox *looks* better.0 -

Agree with all of this though if Sony know whats good for them they would get it out first!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Got a 360 at the moment too. Not really worked out what I'm doing when it comes to a new console purchase yet. I don't tend to buy them as soon as they are released so I'll probably wait 6 months or so until all the hubub has died down and there are some proper user reviews and forum chat for me to look at to help me make my mind up!
Not too keen at all on some of the possible gaming restrictions that sounds like they're going to be implemented with the Xbox One but I will keep an open mind for now!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
We have a PS3 and a Wii U and will probably look at getting a PS4 later on.
Initial cost isn't to much of an issue, if you can afford £350 on a console spending an extra £80 shouldn't be an issue.
Looks, not bothered it's another black box to sit under the TV.
The way the Xbox is set up at the moment, I wouldn't even consider it, what Microsoft are thinking with all the restrictions and conditions, I don't know.
I also only want a Games Machine, not a hub to control my whole world, I already have a load of expensive equipment that does all that.0 -
Sony took a step forward. Microsoft took 359 steps back.

Couldn't agree more. I'm very confused by where they're going with this..."we want to make switching from tv to gaming as easy as changing channel"...It *literally* is that easy already. I press one button on my TV remote and the xbox comes up...I press another and the TV comes back. I just don't see what value they imagine adding...
Personally, I'm quite sick of it. I have a smart TV with all manner of apps I don't use...I have a blu ray player with all manner of apps I don't use, foxsat has a couple of apps I don't use and the xbox already has a whole bunch of apps I don't use...I wonder how much more stuff they intend to give me not to use.0 -
I want an option for both, as I will be buying both.
PS4 - As I own 3 PS3s and want games such as Drive Club, GT6
Xbox One - As I always wanted to play the Forza series but never brought a 360 just for Forza, so I will now get one as I am sure there will be some other Xbox exclusives I dont want to miss out on.0 -
I'll probably end up with both in time although despite preferring the 360 over the PS3 (mainly due to the controller and Live), the PS4 is looking more appealing as its performance is a bit better, there's no restrictions on used games, there's no mandatory check-ins and there's no mandatory camera system.
I mostly use the PC for gaming at the moment so I'm hoping the more standard hardware in the PS4/Xbox One means better ports.

I own every console from the last 10 years, including a PS3 and Xbox 360. The PS3 I have on right now, and the Xbox hasn't been plugged in for over 3 years.
Playstation's tend to have the type of games I prefer, and has the features I want in a console for no extra cost. I think nothing is really *better* than anything else, it's all what you personally want from the console that makes one the right choice for you.
I'll be getting a PS4, already pre-ordered it with release day delivery.0 -
Big 360 fan here, also have a PS3 but it mysteriously broke about 3 years ago, don't miss it. However, the new XBox looks like a load of mince and the PS4 looks like the way to go - although I'm starting to lean towards PC.
All I want is Battlefield: Bad Company 3 on dedicated servers with a minimum 64 player...not much to ask reallyI'd pay £500 for a console and that game right now!
