Grannyboon - im sure DD and baby Finlay will be fine - i look after a LO who was born at 28 weeks, and she is an absolute sweetheart, and has done everything at the right times, so an early baby doesnt mean there will be problems xx0

I see your bolshy teens and raise you .... middle dd. From the age of 12 she was a nightmare - one time the police offered to keep her in a cell for the night just so's I could get a break and would at least know where she was. Now at nearly 18 she still can't explain it properly but tells me that if her younger sister even dreams of behaving the same way she will knock her out and bring her back home.
i am really not cut out for being a nursey/maid to dd although we've had a lot of fun converting her temprature from the celsius thermometer into proper farenheit with a conversion thingy on the net and have decided that 38.8 sounds a lot better than 101. somehow or other I have still managed to put a loaf in the oven and a butternut soup in the SC for tomorrow so am feeling slightly virtuous.
Happy hols those who are off - only 7 more sleeps till the cayman islands woo hoo!
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

My neighbour had fed the coots so I was feeding the fish and a duck when these little beauties swam into view.
The fish are leaping like crazy in the canal tonight so am off to see what's going on. (Hope it wasn't my bread!!) Then I'd better unload the WM and do the dishes, oh, and listen out for the BM beeping :rotfl:
W**k was absolutely cr*p today and I was feeling really down when I got home... but I'm OK nowMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Hi, I'm a bit late posting today.
The house looks like a bombsite. DH is half-way through laying the wooden floor in the hall and it looks great. So today I took my DDs over to my mum and dad's for the day. We went to Lidl for the first time and I was really impressed, what a brilliant shop! :j They had lots of offers on their fruit and veg and so I stocked up...kiwis for 8p each, 2 huge courgettes for 39p, a big bag of red onions for 19p, an aubergine for 23p (not sure what to cook with this) etc I don't know how often they have reductions on the fruit/veg but this is a shop I'll be returning to!
We had our lunch in Tescos and I wasn't impressed with the cafe. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, lots of things weren't available, the tables were dirty and to top it all, you had to clear your own tables! Also, the loos were a disgrace. On the positive side I picked up some bargain clothes for me and the girls and I used a voucher I'd received via the freebies board which meant I got £10 off for buying £50 worth of clothes.I think in future I'll just keep clear of Tesco's cafe, loos, oh yes and the deli, fish counter and the cooked chicken section!!!
We're going to B&Q tomorrow to order the cupboard doors and worktops for our 'new' kitchen (we can't afford to replace everything, so it's having a make-over). We're hoping it will all be delivered before we go on holiday in July. That's the next big job for DH after he's finished laying the hall floor.
Right I'm off to see how much I've spent today. :rolleyes:0
