Had a really bad day at work -everything went wrong. Had phone call from DD and huge Branxton Hicks. 5 weeks too early and head totally engaged. We do not want a 5 week prem baby thanks. Meeting up tomorrow night for the final baby stuff . Sorry he is not coming home second hand rose! DD said she had everything sorted = yeah DH2 stuff - sorry but DGS3 not coming home first (or second hand rose!) Vests and sleepsuits on the agenda tomorrow! GB on the case. She feels bad DGS 2 didn't get same treatment and now DGS3 well!!

Love and hugs, congrats and hope little ones OK.

...how do I cope with a messy, gobby...nearly teenager girl:confused:

Well slapping or shouting probably won't do much, so try banning, something you really detest, but she adores. A TV program perhaps?

Banning WWF (when the wrestling was called that) for a week was great for me and DH, but the threat of it in the future was enough to win any battle with my DS:j :j If they cannot discuss what they all watch the next day at school it really hurts!

Good Luck, I think DS's are easier than DD's in the long run

It's a long time since I joined in here, life has been getting in the way.

PP, I have a mouthy DD, she drives me mad too, might not reach her 15th birthday (this Sunday!) :rotfl: She's nothing compared to mouthy DS though - he's the laziest, mouthiest teen I have met, Kevin the Teenager had nothing on him! I'm constantly amazed at the way other people talk about him - friendly, polite, helpful..... they must be thinking of someone else! Try taking her most prized possession off her for a day or two - MP3 player or mobile phone in my house! Hurts more than physical punishment in my experience ;)

Stef, don't know what happened to your DD's foot, sounds like an infection though. Hope it improves soon, I know how painful it can be.

Had a good OS day today, had leeks and half a chicken to use up so I found Mr bad example's chicken and leek pie thread, had a giggle, then set to making pastry! :D The pie was delicious so huge thanks to everyone who contributed to that thread! The bonus was the jam tart made with left over pastry.. yum! :D

I'm trying to do more and more OS, and there's only a few ready meals in the freezer now (for emergencies ;) ) Not got the hang of meal planning as such, I still buy whatever seems to be a good offer then work out what to do with it. The chicken pie was a triumph, we roasted one small chicken on Sunday, ate half for Sunday dinner, stripped the meat for the pie, simmered the carcase (spelt wrong?) to make stock - two delicious meals for 4, cost about £4 total!

Enough gushing, just feeling very pleased with myself :D

I had braxton hicks for 6 weeks with my third and thought every time that baby was coming, head was engaged but baby arrived just 3 days early and very large (9lb 3) I'm sure DD and baby will be fine whenever it happens though, my second was 6 weeks prem and positively bouncing! :)

    Mad :)

Re the teenager problem. Got there did it and got the tee-shirt and afraid a few huge sleepless nights maybe in front of you. Our two now totally settled in their late 20s. Did slap DD once over the face and regretted it. She concedes totally right - she needed it but shouldn't have lost control. They are continuing family values but did think we had lost it a bit a one point.

    Not an easy time.

Just dropping in to say au revoir! PENNYPINCHER - I'm sure you'll feel better once you are on your way to France; the build-up is really stressful, isn't it? I do hope you have a great and restful trip.

I've just had a bath and DH is in there now, then I'll clean the bathroom and off we go. Got to get fuel on the way and post a letter - all things I should have thought about earlier but other things got in the way.

Will try and catch up with you all while I'm away but, meanwhile, I hope you all keep well, healthy and happy!

    See you soon!

MADMUM - Hi! My DS2 was a Kevin the Teenager from hell! He nearly drove me completely mad but he's 25 now and has turned into lovely young man! To all those with Kevins and Kevinesses - they do grow up and they do become human!

THANKS AGAIN to you all for your good wishes! See - I just don't want to leave you!
    I'm definitely going now! Byeeeee!

Update on the invalid.............he got up for his supper and polished off a ham and fennel omlette, rhubarb and custard.........he has had a small glass of red wine this evening and he is now troughing through cream crackers and cheese so I think he is feeling a little better.............I had a stern word earlier and he seems to have taken it to heart, but we will see..........

I am feeling tired, but hopefully a couple of decent nights sleep will do me a power of good. We are going to try a bath tonight, he will not be able to sit down, but should be able to kneel and I can wash his back etc, there is no way he can heave himself up out of the bath without making his chest worse.

I have ordered groceries on line from Tesco, its due tomorrow, should be interesting, they have to bring several bags up stairs............if they have any sense they will wedge the door and laod it into the lift, but we will see.........

Moiliere...........have a great time, I guess you will be on your way by now....we are looking at a day trip to shop just before Christmas to top up the wine cellar.............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
