Friend racially abused on the bus :(

What is the point on people being hellbent on exercising their rights if the result - however wrong on the part of the perpetrators - is that they get abused and harassed because of it?
The point is if you don't the morons win.Needing to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
It's all very well to insist on wearing clothing that makes you stand out due to religious freedom, but if you are going ttack you, dress, they cover.
As for travelling on a bus with drunks on it, what time of the day was it? We have children older than you, OP. My husband wouldn't dream of letting his DD travel on a bus from the early evening onwards. He would go and pick her up.

Obviously this is never acceptable no matter what warped logic you use and neither is it legal, even if drunk.
But your friend chose to deal with it a certain way and even forced you to become a victim as well by stipulating that you should ignore it 'if you want to stay friends.'
No disrespect to your friend who is young and was probably frightened or not very confident.
Anyway report it to the Police because they will then have the report on file and can do a lot more if it happens again, they might even get lucky with finding the guy though i wouldn't put any hope into it.
Often the problem is when these situations escalate and because the victim has not reported the earlier crimes the Police can't do as much if its a first report. So you have people who have been persecuted repeatedly feeling let down by the Police because they can't do much when the sad reality is there hands are tied.
So make a report so if there is a history of it the Police can do there job well, also they will be monitoring these incidences so by making your report and making the Police more aware you may well save a little old Lady getting spat in the face or verbally abused just because she is a Muslim or an ethnic minority etc.
I'd chase up all the leads so the bus company and the Police now its a problem and then leave it really.0 -
I think you will find the teenage boy is far more likely to get seriously hurt than his sister so perhaps it is the boys who should be escorted as they are so vulnerable.
That is a very good point. Stats show (according the the Suzy Lamplugh Trust) that those most at risk of violent crime are males between 16 and 24.0 -
"If I was prime minister, I'd get rid of these lot, deport the lot of them. For killing that soldier".
I would too - both of them!
Oh, but one of them was born in Lambeth, so he couldn't be deported then.
So that would leave just one.
Which isn't a lot.
And anyway, I'd sooner see him in jail than deported.
Of course, there may well be accomplices.
In which case they deserve the same.0 -
Drunks can get on the bus anytime of day
I've travelled home on night buses many a time where there have been lots of piddled people on board, and they're usually loud, silly, singing, laughing, then as the journey drags on they start falling asleep. I've never detected anything threatening in the atmosphere.
It's the daylight drunks that are intimidating.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -

It's a complete joke, and the silent majority needs to find a ____ing voice. Listen, you cannot always be in a safe bubble, protected from the realities of life, you cannot always sit silently and watch the abuse, on all sides.
Find your moral compass and follow it!
So People need to find their voice.......Well people are, People are voicing their concerns over muslem 's raping only white girls, beheading our troops in the street, standing in a street in Britain and inciting violence against non-muslems, inciting muslem men to join them in jihad.
So tell me........Why are people not allowed to have a say when it is muslem/islamic people doing this...........
You seem to state anyone who has a view on these muslem men doing this as Racist......And this is why it continues and has become a problem in our society.
Nobody has said it is all muslems, but here in your views if someone speaks out about Islam , that certain muslems are using it as a tool to incite violence, or used as sexual tool, then they have to be blaming it on all muslems,
Calling someone a Racist can also be used as a tool to keep them quiet.
It has become such a problem in the Police force, that in the case of the muslem men targetting white girls .....What was their first concern.............
Was it that they could capture all the men doing this.......................
Was it the protection of the girls................
Was it making sure there were no other gangs like this..............
Was it to make sure the men were brought to law and punished.......
NO....It was to make sure the police did not come across as Racist in this case...............Really says it all.
