Partners Cat is Mental

I think someone here has a somewhat overinflated opinion of where he stands in the pecking order. I aske my OH of twenty+ years what he thought I would do if he'd suggested getting rid of Nutter just because of a nip or two. He said he wouldn't like to find out...
I pity your poor cuckolded partner, having to play second fiddle to a cat. Some of us men actually have a pair.
This cat has had a lot of love and attention from my partner historically, but it's obviously not made a blind bit of difference. My appearance has not made things any different.0 -
The more you post OP - the more I pity your partner0

From that sounds like you're the second fiddle!0 -
I can't see what's wrong with putting down a vicious cat. You would do it if it were a dog. Whilst I can't exactly put my foot down cos its not my cat I've told her it would never go near any children of mine. The damage it could inflict on a baby is unimagineable. I don't know if vets have a code of practice for when it is and isn't right to put a cat down???
As for rehoming, I could not morally lie in an advert and say it was a pleasant cat when it is certainly not. Like I say, I would be equally as concerned of it harming its new owners.
All cats bite, it just depends how hard. Most won't cause any serious damage and those that do are usually only doing so because they feel threatened in some way.
I had a cat like you described, who would happily come up to you and slap you across the face for no reason. He would also do the same to much larger dogs, casually walk up and claw them in the face. I wouldn't have ever dreamed of putting him down. He was a cat at the end of day and cats are predatory creatures by nature. Some may be soft and friendly but I don't think it should come as any surprise that some can bite or claw.
And there is a difference between a dog and a cat, a lot of dogs can kill people - i have never heard of anyone being killed by a domestic cat. If you frequently let a cat get the better of you then there are probably more serious things you should be worrying about.0 -

Tell me about it! I thought the cat was bad enough but I'd hate to cross one of these cat owners! (bit late I know).0 -

The more you post OP - the more I am convinced you are a WUM
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

You're 100% right. I am for real! Trolling isn't my scene. I had to google WUM - assumed it was some mumsnet style abbreviation.
And by the way, YABU !0 -

This /\
If the choice is between my pet of 4 years who occasionally bites and a new partner who's already planning our future kids and plotting to get rid of said pet.....AINEC .
Two years from now there'll be a thread on here by a miserable woman who's married to a moody control freak who's insanely jealous of their new baby getting all the attention. She'll end the post with "....I should have known what he was like right from the start; he made me get rid of my lovely cat because he said it was evil...."
Just kidding. I hope
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0
