Jessssssssssssssssssss - so glad I do not "have a man" hahahah

That leaves me plenty of time to "attend" to my dog and 4-6 cats and I much rather do that than have OP's kind of "Tarzan" around...

I have a job, a man and time for my 3 house cats.
One of those has a bit of an issue but we're trying to solve it rather than just get rid of him.
I'm lucky though because I actually have a man, not a jealous little boy who feels he has to compete with the cats for attention.
  • I probably shouldn't have a cat as we keep fancy rats but I'd take the 'psycho cat' just to save it from OP and his hate campaign against the poor thing.

I've got a friend who breeds fancies and also has five cats. There have been no untoward incidents.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

That's good to know! Our girls love their chill time on our sofa so as much as I would love a cat I've been worrying that I'd have to stop letting them come out if we got a moggy.

Hilarious. Who says I'm chasing it. It's like Chinese whispers on here. I said the cat ran upstairs and I ran up after it. She says every time in 4 years that it's bitten her it has run away and she has just left it be. Clearly this is a formula that is not working. So this time I thought I'd follow it upstairs. And there it was hissing away with the angriest face I've ever seen on a cat.

She agrees something must be done and things cannot continue as they are. I'm being pragmatic. It's a lonely woman who perpetually chooses her dysfunctional cat over a family life.

And humans can be evil but not animals? I'd have to disagree.

So you're the only bloke in the world who would want her ?
Really sweetie I wouldn't get tooooooo comfortable there-I think the cat will be outstaying you ....and your ego !!

Seriously it's your girlfriend's decision to make not yours -she may be going along with what you are saying for now - but if it comes to the crunch and you make her choose-if you don't get dumped she may later resent you for it and dump you anyway. Four years is a long time to have a pet and then dump it for "just a bloke" especially one who wants it put to sleep.

Oh and the man in MY life - doesn't expect me to run around after him -he's perfectly capable of looking after himself -and in fact enjoys pampering me -cooking for me etc..... Maybe your girlfriend would like that too-no man in this day and age should be expecting their (working) woman to "look after them" unless they have some form of disability. Perhaps the cat just doesn't like you because you don't treat their mistress properly ? ;)

(Oh and we have three cats between the two of us -I'm sure after we get married and sell our houses and get "OUR" house next year there will be some "issues" when all three cats are in one house -but we will deal with it -it's all part of the package. )

Oooh I don't know. If OP's description of cat is anything to go by, if you had this cat you'd walk into the living room and said cat would've sacrified your fancies to satan and drawn a pentagram on the floor in their blood.

I've got a man, two busy kids, three indoor cats, two outdoor cats, lots of hobbies and a disability but still, I can manage to tell a cat off if it jumps out and bites my toes or hands. My nutter kitten likes to "hide" under the bathmat and do this when you sit down on the loo, lol. So I say no very sharply and distract him with a strip of loo roll to chase instead. This is rocket science? People genuinely can't find the time to do this sort of thing with their pets because they're too busy paying attention to the man in their life?

I think someone here has a somewhat overinflated opinion of where he stands in the pecking order. I aske my OH of twenty+ years what he thought I would do if he'd suggested getting rid of Nutter just because of a nip or two. He said he wouldn't like to find out...

The two garden ferals have sneaked into the greenhouse and are lying on the top shelf of the staging soaking up the sun. What a way to spend their retirement, lol. Nothing like a happy cat. :)
