There are worse things to be mistaken for ;)

On the pocket money front, has the school given you any guidance?
When our school trips are organised, they actually suggest a maximum amount - that way, no child is made to feel uncomfortable when clearly they all comes from various backgrounds/income levels.

If all her food is catered for, simply consider what she might need money for. Will there be a games room in the accommodation? My d12yo spend each evening in there and pool, footie table, juke box, drinks, nibbles etc., were all extra.

Are there special outings to museums/theme places? D12yo went to a sealife centre/Disneyland Paris, diamond museum, chocolate factory. How much would you normally budget for say souvenirs when you go out as a family to such places?

Does she need to have any money for say the journey home to buy her packed lunch with? D12yo had to buy his own lunch at Disney, so that had to be factored in.

    Couple of things we did:-

~ packed a multipack of (unhealthy) crisps so he could have a midnight feast/nibble at the times he felt like ;)
~ packed a bag of satsumas for the same reason (these were in his main suitcase)
~ pre-printed computer address labels for any postcards/mail he may have chosen to send back (he didn't, but it's the thought that counts  )
~ hid some emergency funds in his socks in the suitcase :o

Also, when deciding how much, think of it in terms of per day rather than overall! It's good for them to have a daily budget in mind and it's a life skill practise too ;):D

Thanks to everyone who has sent me hugs and good wishes, afraid there is still not much news, I went in to the hspital with PJ's etc plus a coat and shoes just in case........he is still waiting for his xray, which should have been done last night.........so he will not be home today............I put a hottie in the bed just before I went out, so have just put suasages in the Romuska, going to make myself a sausage and brown sauce sandwich and crawl into bed and see if I can get some sleep...feeling pretty grotty just now......will get up later to call the hospital and watch Kingdom.

The consultant seems to think its muscular, he did not show any of the normal signs and symptoms of a heart attack and his colour was far too good, and his ECG normal even when the pain was peaking, so I was pretty sure we were dealing with something else..........

Left him to have a snooze and he has a book to read. There is visiting from 5 - 8 but I told him I would ring later and agai in the morning to see whats what.

I have 2 pork chops which were to have been for supper tonight, think I'll cook them and re-freeze them, they will do for another night.........I fancy a glass of beer, so that will wash the sandwich down just right.

Csarina, it sounds like your dh has what my dh had a few weeks ago.
We rushed him upto A+E Thinking he was having a heart attack, the chest pains were unbearable, after 6 hours in A+E they sent him home telling him it was musclar, and that he had raise levels of torn muscle emzems in his blood.
He is still suffering with the pain only not as bad as that night. Doctors have told him he needs to rest more.
I hope everything is ok with your dh.

Thanks for that Donna, I think its muscular as well, a couple of weeks ago he said he had lifted a bag of compost on his own, instead of waiting for me to do it, I think he may have done some damage then and playing bowls yesterday exacerbated the problem, but we will see what his xrays show. He was still in pain this afternoon, but they were talking about putting him om Tramadol, to see if that helped.

    good evening everyone.
Penny Pincher hope you have a good evening!
Had a lovely time at my friends and sunday dinner was lovely :) I might not make some soup for tea now as i'm feeling rather full. Might just have an apple or something later. I need to do some more revision though! Am going to try and not go to sainsburys at all this week - it'll be a challenge!

    Hi all

Had a relaxing afternoon, so had a bath while dh took out to the park to feed the duckies and swans.

csarina hugs to your dh, my dh had chest pains a few months ago, went to dr and it was just muscular, very scary though, he does a lot of lifting in his job so maybe thats why, thinking of u and dh

mioliere YES! i am doing the salt rinses:p know better now, it is settling down a bit, sore when i wake up, then eases off, thanks for concern all:D

    icecubequeen welcome to os!

    mrsmw big hugs to you

Am trying to do my recipes in a database for ease to look at, as i normally go online for recipes, thought it would be better to view if i had them down in one place, trying to figure out where to begin though:rolleyes:

    Hugs
    Kyle
