Weather has fined up a bit here. DH feeling much better and we will go for a walk after lunch weather permitting. I'm just about to have a looky at the site Queenie posted. Looks interesting.
Icecubequeen Welcome to OS. :wave:Love your user name. I wish I was more adventurous when I made mine.
Well done Cazziebo
Dannahaz Thanks for the info about the tablets. Will add them to the stardrops, aussie hair treatments & other stuff in my bag that I'm taking home.
GroatieQueen I encountered midgies 32 years ago. I still remember them.
Moilier Yes, it was the same mask and I've had no ill effects after it, although I see no difference. Looks weird on. Don't answer the door.
lil_me Poor you. I can't think of anything worse. Must be awful. (((((hugs)))) Maybe the sale will fall through.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Racy sticks her head round the door
Hi everyone,
sorry I've not posted for so long, I have been trying to read when I can and keep up with what everyone is doing.
Many ((((hugs))))) for all those who would welcome one, and congratulations to many of you too I'm glad to see:j Welcome to all who have joined the thread since I last posted, nice to see you :hello:
I have no idea where the time has gone lately; had a really bad virus for a while and got nothing done. Since I felt better I seem to have spent all my time chasing my tail (and not catching it). Washing/cleaning/cooking are backed up to the rafters...
It is absolutely pouiring here today,so that's the plants watered. Downside is that my kitchen light needs a new tube, I don't have one and there is no way I'm going out in this weather to get one!! So I can't clean the kitchen floor today
Wildlife update - the coot chicks are almost fully grown now (someone tell their Mum that, she is STILL trying to push food into their mouths when the little so and so's fall on anything they can find now like a pack of vultures :rotfl: ) You wouldn't know that Feisty had been the smallest, all caught up now. I think they will all be flying soon, their wings are really growing.
Recently Solomon and Serena showed up with a cygnet riding on their backs - soooo sweet! There are piccies on my homepagethough it's hard to get one of the cygnet on board showing clearly. Orphaned ducklings and loads of other birds young and old, are keeping my feeders busy. I've cut back on the breadmaking and discovered that the birds are a great substitute compost bin - I'm not sure I really appreciate the "compost" they leave me after I've topped them up though
As I can't see to work much in the kitchen, today is going to be spent sorting clothes out for the warmer ( ) weather. WM is already on for the second time. Back to it!
:wave:My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Hello all,
Sorry for the interruption. Friend much better now. Havent been able to catch up on the posts yet. But I just want to thank Lil_me for repeating the news report about Clover. Have taken my tub out of fridge an have also printed it out so I can pass it onto some friends.
Not much going on here today - as with the rest of the UK, its raining cats and dogs here. Still, it is what keeps this a 'green and pleasant land'.
Also a special mention for Csarina - I hope DH is okay. Sending you lots of hugs to see you through......
Well, off for a shower, and then potter about the home whilst my DH goes to pub to watch Monaco Grand Prix. (peace and quiet)
Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend all!!
LGworking hard at this thing called life0 -
Csarina, hope your DH is OK. Take care of yourself.
I can't write much, I'm not supposed to type because of my hand/wrist problems, so hugs to anyone who wants one, congrats where appropriate and enjoy the bank holiday everyone.0 -
Hi.
Just put chicken on for roast tonight and cooking a stew for tomorrow so quite busy at the moment.
Absolutly chucking it down here today so staying in today and tidying and sorting out. Might have a declutter as well.
Off to work at 6am tomorrow so have a nice bank holiday Monday.
If you have not been out yet do NOT venture to the supermarket as everbody seems to think the world is ending as it is sooooo busy :rotfl:

(((HUGS))) Csarina - hope your DH is ok and feeling much better soon.
I have just woke up again!guess I am not quite over the jet lag! Legs are playing up too, this does not bode well for trip to dentist in London on Tuesday. Back to resting up and pacing, fingers crossed.
Hello Mrs MW! (((Hugs))) right back to you too! hope your wrists are ok.
Off for a hot bath to see if that helps and the ironing can go hang!

ICECUBEQUEEN - Welcome. You'll like us!
AUSSIELASS - thanks so much for testing the mask for me - I'll go ahead with mine tonight!
RACYRED - wondered where you'd got to - missed hearing about the coots.
Still tipping it down here - I made DH drive me up the shops for the paper and we're buying his new shirt tomorrow! Just want to be indoors at the moment!
I have dug out all the old manky veg that would normally be thrown out before a holiday and I'm making some soup in the SC and have another loaf in the BM. Still have a list as long as your arm to get through but found myself on here again.
See you later!

Good afternoon all:hello:
Rain has finally stopped here and the sun is trying to peep through, but not having too much success at the moment.
Got DS4 and his GF here today (arrived last night) Made them a lovely roast beef and all the trimmings dinner yesterday, so today they're getting potato, onion and bacon bake with loads of veggies.
DH is pacing around like a caged tiger - he wants to go and paint some more fences:rotfl: :rotfl: ( oh bless!!) He'll need it to dry up a bit more first. Never thought he'd be so enthusiastic about mundane jobs, I'm going to capitalise on this while it lasts;)
Csarina, sorry to hear about DH. Hope he's much better today, and that nothing else goes wrong for you. (((((hugs))))))
Thanks for the update on the coots Racy, been wondering what was happening with them. And now a cygnet, aaaaah!
Sorry the brain has now died, and I've forgotten what else I was going to say:o So congrats, get better and ((((((hugs))))))) for the taking.
Bye for now,

Afternoon all, hope today is going as you wish it to go. Well finished my exam marking:j :j :j  DH has 8 to do. Can I say to all intrested parties if you know anyone taking exams PLEASE, PLEASE TELL THEM THAT TEXT SPEAK WILL LOSE THEM MARKS
Regarding mice, someone suggested borrowing a cat, well, as you know we have 7. A few weeks ago DH got up to go to the loo and heard a noise that sounded somewhat odd. On going down stairs he saw a remarkable sight, in the hall sat a field mouse so relaxed that it was WASHING ITS WISKERS   Watching with intrest was all 4 of our brave boy cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give up. Also regarding feeding birds we feed them in our garden and haven't had any major problems with the 'gang' , ironically one of ours "saved" a bird last year. They were sitting up at the top of the garden again in a circle, we thought they were harrassing a frog but they were looking at a baby wood pigeon tha thad fallen from the nest. A quick trip to the Three owls bird sanctuary and a happy ending for all concerned. Am posting this as I dont want to lose this will do more shortly. A XX
