3 year old girl in hot tub with 6 males who were drinking !

I hate it too. I recall my big, very gentle BIL telling me about seeing a small girl get caught up in some equipment at a swing park and though he was the closest person he felt he couldn't go over to help until her mother came up. He was there with his two year old son and did go over to assist (being 6'6" tall is a huge advantage sometimes) eventually but he said "What if they thought I was hurting her, or trying to touch her?"
I knew another man who wouldn't change his newborn DD's nappies in case he was accused of unnatural thoughts, despite having been fine with changing his two sons. It's a sad world we live in, really.
Accused by who? Are you sure he wasn't just trying to get out of doing it? That's ridiculous.0 -
I think the OP got caught out by her "friend".Pants0

Well the OP threw all her toys out of the pram and deleted all her posts, which is not really in the spirit of the forums.
As for bullying, to label 'this' bullying is very extreme. The OP should really have thought about what she said before she said it. She is making some serious insinuations on this thread, regarding a picture, which by everything she has said, including the added extras like 'random' delivered the responses she got.
If I was the mum I would be furious with her.
I used bullying, for want of a better word perhaps, but it amounts to the same thing. The OP posted about a situation that she in her mind thought was wrong, she never accused the men of actually doing anything.
I think it actually says more about the mother tbh, I mean what sort of mother posts "my daughter in a hot tub with 6 men"?0 -
I stayed away from this thread as I couldn't really see anything wrong with it, I brought it up with my OH yday and was suprized he agreed with me as well.
Can't say I agree with them all drinking round the little girl but in my area its pretty normal to see parents swearing and drinking midday in the street...and at end day it was a party with friends round.
Once my LO is older I do plan on saying to the OH to only drink when he's in bed as hopefully this will be about 7pm and wont affect him to much. :-)People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
The comment that the mum 'farms her out to anyone' suggests that the OP has concerns about the mum's parenting, whereas the rest of us just think 'so what' because we know that our children are properly looked after and that if they ever ended up in a hot tub with no top on there wouldn't be anything dodgy about it or any danger to our children.
The mum's comment is dodgy. I'd think ewww if I saw something like that on facebook - not because I'd think the child was in danger or that the men might have inappropriate thoughts, but because it's not funny and the comment says a lot about the mother.
At 3, mine would have been wearing a swim nappy if they were in water. I've never been in a hot tub so I don't know if they are too hot for 3 year olds. If it was a really hot day then I suppose mine would be wearing a rash vest to prevent sunburn, but if it were later on with little risk of sunburn then perhaps they'd be topless.
As the girl was topless she wasn't wearing a costume, but swim nappies are just nappies, so she was probably wearing one of those, or perhaps just her knickers if it was an unexpected dip. 3 year olds don't need to cover their breasts, so being topless isn't a problem.52% tight0 -
Im going to go against the flow here. What I find a little disturbing is the title the child's mother gave the photo "my daughter in a hot top (sic) with 6 men". To me, that sounds suggestive and not a title I would give to a picture of my young child. Nothing wrong in the situation itself, but that comment puts an interpretation on the situation which is sexualised and in very poor taste especially for a mother to write about her daughter!0

This is an open forum. People were disagreeing. There are plenty of threads there the OP has an opinion which is then jumped on by lots of people. It's a bit immature to delete all your posts just because you don't like the way the discussion is going. If you changed your opinion or want to add something for people that don't read all the thread you can say - 'I've seen that I didn't think it through' by editing your first post or if you stand by your opinion then that's fine. You don't need to delete all your posts!0 -
Well to be honest it is concerning that the mother was sexualising her small child with that comment. But not every man is a p****phile.Yes as I said previously I did not recognise any of the men from any other pics she has posted and I used to work with this girl so it wasnt friends from work. If a 3 year old was in there with her father at a family party with relatives I wouldnt think anything of it, however it looked like just 6 guys from a party in the hottub and the young girl.
This was the original posting before the pic was put up
So... My daughter is currently in a hot top with 6 men
Saw this in the paper recently, it's getting silly.

True
Maybe the OP just felt uncomfortable and made to feel that she was in the wrong for thinking what she did, and started to wish she'd never started the thread? She couldn't delete it, so deleted all her posts instead.

Things aren't the same as when we were kids that's for sure. 0 -
Personally I feel incredibly sorry for OP's 'Friend'. I wouldn't like to think that any friend of mine was showing colleagues my photos and insinuating I was an unfit Mother on forums.0
