As a child I took a particular liking to men. I don't know why but I like being a part of my dad's building buddies and pop into the office for a chat etc - between the age of 4 - 10 (lived on a farm that was being developed and shock horror was left to my own devices to explore all the time) my daughter is exactly the same. I have to reign her in now because even if she goes and talks to a male, they are always uncomfortable, for this very reason. Such a shame.

You do know pinklady.....that it is actually dad/uncle/brother etc that children are most at risk from. Most children abused are abused from within the family, not by strangers.

I hate it too. I recall my big, very gentle BIL telling me about seeing a small girl get caught up in some equipment at a swing park and though he was the closest person he felt he couldn't go over to help until her mother came up. He was there with his two year old son and did go over to assist (being 6'6" tall is a huge advantage sometimes) eventually but he said "What if they thought I was hurting her, or trying to touch her?"

I knew another man who wouldn't change his newborn DD's nappies in case he was accused of unnatural thoughts, despite having been fine with changing his two sons. It's a sad world we live in, really.

Yeah, chances are if a three year old got in a hot tub with six random 21 year old males their first thoughts would be along the lines of "Get that kid out of here, what if it takes a dump or something?"
