Simple mobile phones with big buttons

Doea anyone know of a REALLY easy mobile phone for my elderly parents.
My dad is disabled and a wheelchair user. They are both in their mid 80's.
They really only need a phone for emergencies when they are out at the shops or to call the taxi. They don't go far on their own. I live over 100 miles away and would feel better if they had a mobile.
We tried a couple of phones that we thought would be ok but they were too complicated. I think there is a gap in the market here.
Any ideas anyone please?0 -
Same problem for my Mum. Shaky hands so could do with bigger numbers on dial. Often has to get someone else to dial for her.0

We have a Nokia 1101. Simple to use.'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

Try the EASY FIVE this is sold by age concern, but can be got more cheaply if you google it in. ( bought from France) The phone has 5 buttons which you pre-programme 5 numbers on, i.e Dr., relative , etc. The buttons are quite big and easy to use.
The phone will receive incoming calls from any number but can only use the pre-programmed numbers to phone out. You might find this suitable, otherwise there is one called "simply" by vodaphone which is really straightforward, unfortunately these are not now sold but I did manage to get one second hand and my 86yr old mother can even text on it. She could not get on with the nokia and found the easy five too simple. Hope this helps.0 -
Most cheap phones have speed dial, so you only need to press one key i.e. 5 for son, 6 for brother, 7 for mother etc. How can that be too difficult to operate. Read the manual! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Actually it's not so easy when you are 85 with poor eyesight and disabled!
Thank you Grandmasu for your helpful comments, I am considering the Easy Five.0 -
I have looked at the reviews for the Easy5 and think it would be ideal. :T
My dad can only use one hand but I think he could manage it in an emergency. I'd feel a lot happier if they had a mobile when they are out.
We tried a Nokia phone with speed dial and a motorola but they had difficulty with the buttons and display being rather small.0 -
