Does anyone know of a good, simple mobile phone with bigger buttons suitable for my 74 year old father whos eyesight is not great and texting skills are even less so. I have read about the Emporia Life phone for the over 50s but cannot for the life of me find one anywhere so am looking for an alternative.Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A0

nokia 3310/3330. they are old, but are easy to use and have big buttons.
if you want a slightly more better phone, try the nokia 6310i. it also has big buttons and is easy to use as well.0 -
I know not everybody agrees but I like the idea of using voice dial for those who find the small buttons fiddly. Sure it need somebody to help to do the programming but once its done its so easy to use and there are loads of phones that allow this.0

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester..

I'd go for one of the older Panasonic Models like GD30, G520 or similar. Proper size mobile with large keys, reliable and a long battery life. Plus you can buy them for next to nothing.0

Too much hassle, melipona, imo. I tried setting it up for my father but it just caused more complications when he couldn't use it properly and then wanted to manually dial.0 -
I'd say stick to Nokia - they are famouse for they simplicity. And stick to an old phone like Nokia 1600, 1110, 1112 etc.0

Try this one. It's not a mobile as such but it's a desktop phone that uses a sim card:

We were looking for something like this for an elderly friend (80+) with poor eyesight and dexterity. You can't take it out to the shops (well, I don't think you can?) but it works great for the house-bound. Also, you don't need to pay BT for a monthly land rental of £11. You can use that instead for a Pay as You go Sim or monthly plan.0
