I don't think Mobile World has roaming. For France either get a French SIM or a Vodafone UK one and enrol for Passport, which means calls at UK rates plus a 75p connect fee0

Any ideas? Nokia 1100 looks good? Or even 3220?
Get the 3220, great phone, big buttons, but is colour and has camera as well.
£50 from The Link, but that includes £30 Easymobile airtime voucher.

Plus get £2.50 back if you go thru Quidco.0 -
My mother is going slowly blind and would like a new payg mobile with easy to read keys. It needs to be very easy to use as she is 83 and in her words "stupid with anything technical". Any ideas anybody.0

There aren't many phones that have big keys today. V3 is possibly the biggest.
the rnib have a couple of factsheets about this. http://www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/idcplg?IdcService=GET_DOC_PAGE&Action=GetTemplatePage&Page=RNIBSearchPage&ResultTemplate=RNIBSearchPage&QueryText=&KeywordWeighting=UseKeywords&pageType=homepage&searchType=Generic&FullText=mobile+phone
they even have some software that runs on symbian phones to increase the writing size i believe.
but my advice would really be to get her a basic phone, nokia 1100 or something, the buttons are big and not fiddly, even if the writing isn't so big.
then just set up some speed dials for her. don't know if you know, but all phones can be set up so that holding just one key dials a specific number, speed dialing.
like all phones the 5 key has bumps on it. she should be able to manage that. you can set the phone to 'any key answer' then you just need to show her how to hang up.
she can play snakeII if she wishes also. I presuming that shedoesn't txt???0 -
£45 and seemingly exactly what you want - the Vodafone Simply

There may be other places where you can get this cheaper, I am not sure if you can get this phone on other networks.
The RNIB also have a phone here

It is v.pricey £350+ and I guess is a last resort as it is v.specialist
Good luck in your phone choice0 -

i did a google on phones for partially sighted and i saw this through the RNIB it was the price that put me off lol the link you have given is about 100pounds cheaper though but to be honest i didnt really want to spend either amount for a xmas present
the nokia mentioned does appear to have quite big buttons where as the flipfront one she has now is quite small and narrow. i noticed it also have voice calling too which would be handy for her.
thanks for lookingIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0
