What to offer , my way or my wife`s way ?

well , i need to talk to my good wife about that , but i am quite annoyed i have a feeling they are being greedy , they think they have hooked a buyer after all this time , and are going to try to squeeze as much as they can , but i think they will be cutting there nose off to spite their face
I think , i we go back in at 180 bang on , teh EA will try to bring us up to 182/3 area , and i am just not going to let that happen
We have made a few sacrifices really , much as its our choice to potentially knock down and replace a really poor excuse for a conservatory , it still needs to be done , to make the house even worth what it is now ! , but it was a long termer for us so we didnt mind it not adding value , its also on the west coast main line , so we think the chances of a buyer coming along that wants to pay what they want , are really slim
I wont be taken for a ride , i know that , whatever my wife says
But yeah , pretty dissapointed right nowNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
I would take that as a sign you are not meant to have that house.
The right one will come your way very quickly I'm sure.
Good luck0 -
i wouldnt be too disapointed right now, offer more and it would be too much as you mentioned. maybe the seller is being greedy and waiting for you to up your offer, but i dont see why as they have not managed to sell their house in the last 6 months at what they were previously happy with (i.e. your last offer) so its makes little sense to me.
sleep on it and see how you feel in the morning, good luck.0 -
just irritates me that someone buys something for 175 , decides in less than a year that it isnt for them , they want to relocate down south to where family are , do NOTHING to the house , other than not clean it! in all that time , then sit on the market for 6 months , get a proceedable offer at what they paid , and turn it down
very annooyed but hey , what can you doNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

Are you sure the EA has spoken to the seller and is not just attempting to extract more money from you?
Try to contact the seller direct.I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -

It does sound to me like they are getting greedy. Probably realised you liked it and kept in mind and think they can take you for a ride. I honestly think if you go back to them and say no, that was our final offer they will come back to you in a couple of weeks and say alright then.
But if not, it just wasn't meant to be I suppose! Definitely sounds frustrating though.First home purchased 09/08/2013

Not sure what you expect.
You viewed the property a while ago, already put in an offer, told them you have more money than that, but you couldn't proceed.
You've then gone back after months, which clearly shows you are very interested.
If I were them I would have done exactly the same.0 -
Don't go higher. We had a similar position a few years ago where the vendors had over-paid for the property a couple of years before, and not realistic about what it was worth. We offered £240k against an asking price of £275k as a take-it-or-leave-it. It took a few months but eventually they took it, once the penny dropped. (Unfortunately later we lost our buyer and the deal collapsed - we decided to do our place up before re-marketing so had to pull out - and the vendor eventually sold for less than £240k...)They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Maybe so , but who `wins` ?
Not them i`ll wager
We were probably 30% of their total viewings !Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
