    Mmmmmm

Two different people who are both new to the site have worked for the same company.

    Coincidence or what

Jeeze, please. They ave given quite good information there, apart from what 40 hour would likely pay?
  • Wages start at £6.25 per hour with the opportunity to earn commission but basically the commission is simply for doing your job, nothing more.

  • Well I've stumbled across this thread after sending all my personal documents off to sensee as part of the recruitment process.

I've went through the recruitment process, been offered a good contract and hopefully will start very very soon as long as my docs are ok.

I'm a very suspicious person anyway so at every stage of the process I've checked things out even down to checking LinkedIn/Facebook profiles of the actual people I'm dealing with, street viewing where I'm sending my personal information as-well checking signatures on the royal mail recorded delivery letters.

Other than the initial thoughts of it being a scam I'm not worried in the slightest, everything adds up and checks out and hopefully I will be able to where my Onsie to work soon :)

There is loads of info on the Sensee thread on the Sureboom forum especially if you are thinking of applying. They are also on Twitter.

I used to work for them and they are genuine and PAYE. But call centre work can be tough when working from home.

They are brilliant for disabled people who cannot get out and work otherwise though.

I'd be wary of these guys...My wife tried to work for them, and the experience was horrible...They request form after form after form, as if you are applying for a job to work in a secure bank or something...They actually wanted her to post in her ORIGINAL passport, and wanted a criminal background check from a country she lived in outside the UK (which doesn't have a CRB system)

Pretty pathetic, they treat you like you are some kind of criminal until proven innocent...They are very suspicious of everyone and constantly asking for bizarre documents, like your original National Insurance card...very paranoid company..AVOID

I am also not surprised, by their own admission, that most people don't stay longer than a week..It's because the application process is exhausting (it really doesn't have to be, they just go completely overboard with security)...we found them to be a very intrusive and rude company to deal with
  • Jeystone I don't know where you get that information from? I've worked there nearly a year and it's growing. The application process is tough because it's a specialist job. You're talking from a position where your wife didn't ultimately get the job, so of course you are going to be biased against it. I can tell you for a fact, you are absolutely wrong in saying 'most people don't stay longer then a week'.
  • Hi everyone

Sensee has asked to give a right of reply. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum.

Hi everyone, I'm Iain, I work in the Recruitment team at Sensee. I just wanted to come on here and address some of the concerns some of you have about the company I work for. I accept that the type of homeworking Sensee provide is a relatively new concept in the UK, and there are a lot of companies out there offering work from home and 'get rich opportunities, so it makes sense that people might be sceptical and cautious. And that's why, as a business, Sensee's aim is to be as open and accessible as we can be and I hope I can demonstrate that by addressing your concerns head on here:

First of all, I want to assure you that Sensee is not a 'scam'. We are recognised in the contact centre Industry by winning an award this year for Innovation at the Professional Planning Forum and being a finalist alongside organisations such as Sky, Virgin Media and BT in the European Contact Centre awards. You can easily check this out. We are the first homeworking company in the UK to offer full employment with no zero hours contracts or self employment. Our employees get paid for all training and every hour they are scheduled to work. Our employees can work on contracts that offer them anything from 20 to 40 hours a week, 28 days paid holidays pro rata, fully paid training and support from management with opportunities to develop their careers. Other benefits of homeworking include flexible working hours, no commuting time or costs and the opportunity to work in the security of their own home. Our website has details of all the opportunities for everyone to assess for themselves and we have lots of opportunities to suit different needs.

With regard to not being able to call us - there is a listed contact number on our website, however it is purposely not easy to find. This is because we actually use our online application process to assess candidates' ability to follow instructions and apply online- if people need help during the process then of course they can contact us by phone, but we do not want to make this a default option. To become part of our team we need people who can operate self-sufficiently and be comfortable using web based software, and since we do tend to get a large response, this works best for us. Homeworking is not for everyone and our recruitment process has been designed to ensure that homeworking is right for everyone we get on board.

In reference to us withholding the first week of pay until after three months of employment - This is a relatively new requirement made necessary by a number of individuals who joined and left soon after the end of training, costing the company money and time in finding replacements and more importantly depriving others of gaining employment with us. We're really honest about this and explain it to all candidates throughout the recruitment process. Everyone who joins us understands the reasons it is applied and are willing to agree to it before we progress their application. In fact it is a rare occurrence for us not to have to refund the first week of training.

In response to the comment about Sensee's £1.6 million debt - Sensee Ltd is in a much healthier financial position than the accounts might suggest. Most organisations have to borrow from banks and so have debt and, in these circumstances the banks can foreclose on a company should the debt not be served or the bank wishes to get the loan repaid. Sensee have invested a lot of money in developing a robust virtual working environment and employing people on a full time basis. We would not have the clients we have if we did not have such leading edge technology and great people working for us. All this investment has to come from somewhere and the positive aspect for Sensee is that the £1.6 million debt is not with any financial institution or banks but actually with the directors of the business, who are active in the business. This actually makes us more secure than most businesses. We have doubled in size each year and we currently have over 400 employees.

With regard to the comment about our pre-employment screening - Yes, our pre-employment screening is extremely rigorous. Our clients are among the biggest brands in the UK, and include financial services companies, and the biggest concern they all have is security of customers' data. We therefore take all necessary precautions to ensure the validity of applicants and to ensure we comply with the very highest standards of compliance and due diligence. On that basis, we need to see proof of Identification, be it a passport or driving licence or birth certificate we have to do this by post as it is not acceptable to view copies under UK law. All documents are received and copied and always returned securely and quickly once checked. Again, we're really honest about our pre-employment screening throughout the recruitment process and I hope you understand why this is necessary.

There also seems to be some confusion about our registered address just to be clear, Sensee Ltd is registered in England and Wales under Company Number 5108057. This is all public knowledge and listed at Companies House. Sensee practises what it preaches and everyone apart from one or two people works virtually from their home addresses this includes all team leaders, managers and Directors.

I hope I have answered your concerns here. We think we offer a great way of working, but we do understand that homeworking isn't for everyone. We welcome your questions and we are always interested in how we can enhance our services. To find out more about us you can visit our website at https://www.sensee.co.uk
