Mr Cobes I think you could get to the end of the month on those tins of beans alone! :rotfl:Go on - lets see how long you can live out of your cupboard without hitting the shops...:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Morning All, declaring a SFD for yesterday, packed lunch and snacks made & pulled food out of freezer for tea so should get in another SFD today.
Have a good day all. Eh xx0 -
Morning all.
Just a quick one as I'm at work.
Checking in with another sfd, and wishing stationeryspender the best of luck.
Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. So far, hubby is still making the effort so I'm happy enough. Just hope he's had a wake up call and finally realised what he's got to lose. So far so goodNinja Saving Turtle0 -

Hi everyone,
((hugs)) to all that need them
Day off today and the sun is shining, so I think I will do a bit in the garden, I have a B&Q gift card, so I will go up there and get some more compost and gravel if I can find someone to get it in the car for me.:)
Im missing my own computer as it has my spreadsheets on it, so when I read my meters this am I cant enter them in and all my accounts on it, so I reckon I will have to look out an old notebook (I must have one lurking somewhere) and start again the old fashioned way:(
I reckon everyone is doing great this month, we seem to be getting through, even if we fall off a bit we're getting back on board - and that's what is important isn't it, Im glad I can come on here and read everyday as it keeps me on the straight and narrow (well almost all the time!!)
So off to get the compost etc

Hello...I'm still here just feel a wee bit overwhelmed with all the other stuff at the moment. But it really does help me to post so I'm back for the rest of the month. Working but on a break so a very quick update. SFD's going ok and I'm getting rid...slowly of the clutter. Food spend reaching it's limit so I'll have to be careful over the next couple of weeks. Fuel is over again, I'm such a pushover when it comes to picking DS1 & 2 up if they ask. DS1 is sitting his theory test in July so hopefully soon he'll be using his own fuel
Very pleased though with gas/elect readings submitted for the month. They are 1/4 of our winter power bills so it feels like summer is here to stay (although found heating was on when we returned from caravan on sunday evening...DS1 had found it cold and switched it on?!) He is moving out in Julyand I'm sure he will wrap up in his flat before switching the heating on.
We were away to the caravan at the weekend which was lovely, just the break I needed. Keeping on top of the allotment has been tricky. I popped over on Thurs evening after 8pm and DH phoned me at 10.50pm to check I was ok! At that point I realised dark had fallen and couldn't find the padlock for our shed. Another visit tonight after school discos and I will set alarm on my phone to remind me to go home!
Jonesy - very impressed that you walked away from that job as it sounded dodgy and great news that you have a new job with some lovely new colleagues.
Hope you all enjoy your day!

Morning all, keeping upto date with posts just about but stuff keeps getting in the way of me writing!!
Not a sfd yesterday - bought petrol and 16 pts of ys milk for £2.60! The bulk of this is in the freezer.
We are eating down the freezer to the bare bones - partly due to challenge but also our friend is doing a beef box for us which will be ready later this week. Not sure what the cost is but its more about wanting to support his venture, it will be comparable to sm prices and will taste fab (apologies to the veggies out there). Also not 100% certain as to the volume we are getting!!
DH is off camping to a thing called the gathering this weekend - bunch of blokes and God in a field somewhere north of bristol. Anyway I will be flying solo with the squiglets for the weekend - not sure quite what I am planning yet but something fun (and cheap)!
Right had best get some work done, soup is cooking on the hob (to clear the chicken stock from afore mentioned freezer) washing on. Now paid work!!
Love to all

Today should be another SFD. Not sure what's for tea yet. Still got to butcher the chicken that I bought on Sun and maybe use parts of that or might just defrost some beef stew and make rice. We'll see.
Made OH a billtong box for his birthday so the first tester lot is drying since yesterday. Can't wait to taste it.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Right then lets get this down before the stupid t'interweb logs me out. I have learned to copy everything before hitting submit but clearly forgot this time!
LAGL your post made me laugh. I am going to do a VEGAN July while you munch your way through a small farm! I need to sort my skin out and I think it's all to do with eating dairy ( I read a lot about this and it's becoming more and more evidentially linked..) so out with eggs, milk, yoghurt and cheese. Shouldn't be to hard.... I am looking forward to it...
Love the fact there are more "God" people or at least OH's lurking around.. lol! We aren't that bad I promise...:rotfl:
Abundant I can see why your diet is so expensive. It's hard being healthy isn't it. I think if it's working you should continue with it - the mental balance and optimist that comes with a healthy body is nothing to baulk at! Try Holland and Barett though for a 1KG tub of natural peanut butter - I take it you are eating Whole Earth Organic peanut butter..( I LOVE IT ) but it wasn't lasting very long... I used to train hard as a mini-bodybuilder. This stuff with chocolate protein powder and a banana whizzed together! Nom nom!!! ..however as mentioned above July will be VEGAN so my food budget will be higher next month as well!
Thrifty how did you make your billtong..? Where on earth do you live though..?
StationarySpender - TELL ME YOUR AGE!!!! :rotfl:
AuntyRuby - your kids are lucky to have you picking them up! When I lived at home my Mother would pick us up wherever we wanted as we were so rural. She is such a good Mummy as you clearly are.. well done on the caravan holiday,.. it's great to get away! And please be careful at that allotment so late at night..:o
Mr Cobes - Patak pickle with D shaped ham??.. Sounds delightful! Or perhaps just open your doors and us penny-pinching Spartans will feast....:rotfl:
