Hi All
A SFD, and we were invited to a BBQ, so no cooking for me, really lovely afternoon.
Half the month gone and half to go, this challenge has really kept me focused and I've kept on top of my spending, I could be out of my overdraft by the end of the month!!! Been in it for 5 years, its not huge amount, but to be out of it will be huge to me,
Hope you all had a good weekend

Good morning ..New week..same striving
Had a great couple of days in the ' Midlands ' Thursday and Friday..pre booked good food show and gardeners world.
Went to the 2nd best restaurant in Bromsgrove as recommended by TripAdvisor..I am glad I never went to the 3rd best...
I spent £43 cash at the show on cheese and curry pastes, must have been something else < shrug>.
£63 parking and eating out..about £50 on petrol..all on CC...to keep it away from my budget for June.
Saturday night..after a day of wishing the impossible and working on my allotment, I succumbed to a bottle of wine and one of the two packets of Sensation crisps that I really needed I told myself..£7.49.
Sunday morning was I annoyed..I don't usually eat crisps and I had a muzzy head plus another wasted Spend day..
Went looking at cars that I now have to buy, luckily came home to digest figures....went from the £14000 secondhand. to only blah blah a month etc..for a new one. will end up £22000.. No thanks
Today the day after my birthday...a YSD buy day I need vegetables..so I will hit the town supermarkets first, leaving the big A till last as there is a checkout lady who seems extra smiley and friendly when I go to her...I might give my phone number by accident ...hey these things happen ? :rotfl:
Then home ..Mr T around 4 30 as that is the reduction time ..but no ordinary buying as I am £22 over budget so far from my £8.33 pa day.
13 days to go and doing well, I am being careful...
C'mon guys :T < annoying whoop noise>0 -
Buffythedebtslayer a massive hug. Wannabeincredit i hope OH makes the right decisions and sticks to them.
Re confessions. I also have sinned and overspend. Went into town to get my finger measured for a ring (by a grumpy B**ch as we weren't planning on buying, never mind) and saw the market was on so bought some Scotch bonnet whisky sauce, buffalo burgers and venison sausages =£15. Also had quite a few drinks in the house Fri and Sat. And did the big shop (£70) on Sunday how ever that included £26 of HH items like nappies, wipes, shower gel etc. This means I'm over all budgets :eek::eek: but shouldn't need anything this week and we'll be at FIL on the weekend so that should be spend free too.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hello all - checking in after a bit of an absence.
Hugs to those that need them, and congratulations on new jobs and lifestyle changes!
Abundant, I think if you're still paying off £350 besides your (admitedly large) grocery budget you're doing really well! And diet and exercise is a much healthier habit than the ones you were indulging at the beginning of the year, so you should be proud. There is undoubtably a benefit to be gained by bulk buying and pre-preparing stuff, but you can work towards that. I have seen somewhere (pinterest probably, if you're not on there do it, it has a huge amount of healthy recipies to use) pureeing spinach and then freezing it in ice cube trays, and then blitzing it into your smoothies. Means there is always some greens in the hosue, and would be a great way to make use of YS spinach.
Not much to report here - weekend in Nott'm with the BF, relatively low spends, felt in control of it. A couple more NSDs, today included. Hi all, been awol for a while. Not keeping along with the challenges as I find it hard with planning a wedding etc.
I am following the forum though.
By payday a week on friday I should have paid of either another £550 or £650 from my c/c which will bring me under the £2k mark for the first time in a few years. I am happy with this progress as it will mean I have paid of either £1k or £1100 since 01/01/20130 -
Hello All,
I need to go on the naughty step, my mum visited this weekend and we went shopping (I did spend my own money) but did I really need 5 bras & pants, new shoes, maxi dress, 2 tops and skinny jeans. Can't take anything back as my mum cut the tags off them (I keep the tags on until I wear them or return them) Plus bought a picture and frame from Ikea.
Annoyed with myself for spending money especially when I put the car insurance on the credit card and should be paying that off!
So time for damage limitation, I am declaring that my mission this week is to live out of the cupboards/freezer for food and off the £15 I have in my purse. I don't need petrol and have enough food if I meal plan/use my imagination!

Hi All
A small spend - unexpected guest for dinner- But to be honest it was small, and normally I would have gone and spent £30+, this time I just jigged things around and only spent £3.45, so although a spend i'm quite pleased.
Love this Challenge

Hi all, its been a funny sort of day, but Im home now and can get some peace and quiet
Doris65, I wish I could get out of overdraft, even if it was for a couple of days, I am working towards it but its a very long slow process, so congrats to you:j
My computer has well and truly broke, so until I can afford the repairs a friend has lent me his laptop for a bit, typing on the Kindle is fine in small amounts but not for all I want to do:(
So that's just part of my day, I only had a small spend, 90p on a lettuce for Rosie, and as long as I remember that the bank owns me, (OD) it puts me off spending anything:o

WOAH WOAH WOAH! I was away for the weekend (well, long weekend...:) ) and so much has happened here!
Mr Cobes - belated happy birthday :bdaycake:
Jonesey88 - you are my hero right now! Congratulations on having the guts (and values) to leave your job and find a new one. As a jobhunter, eager to leave my workplace - your story is very inspiring to me. Good luck in your new role.
KrustyLouise - how was the date???!!!
Buffy & Wannabee in Credit - thinking of you both and sending you massive hugs. Hope that you both get the love that you want and deserve
NSK- TK Maxx is on my blacklist! I don't have the willpower to walk out of there without a bag, so I have stopped going in there. It is seriously addictive.
And a big hello to everyone else :idea:LBM @1/4/13 £15,754

So now I've caught up - nothing new to report on the spending side for me. We had a spending kitty for the trip to Barcelona for food and drink, and I am very proud to say that I didn't buy ANYTHING else on my whole trip. :j
This has never happened before. I would normally go crazy shopping but no, I was on my moneysaving trip, and had one of the nicest breaks in a long time.
Back to reality now though. With my birthday on Thursday, I am in the process of taking stock of my life. A comment from my sister this weekend acted as a bit of a wake up call that I am not really where I want to be in any aspect of my life and so I am now on a mission to sort this. Clearing Debt is obviously a big part of this but I think I need to address other areas too!:idea:LBM @1/4/13 £15,754
