Hi everyone
Well not only has my computer given up the ghost, but I have lost my last gas perm contact lens so Im wearing a pair of glasses held together with tape, wonder what will be next, Oh I know the rubber seal around my window screen on the car has started to come away!!!!:(:(:(:( Feel like sh*t, just when you think you may be getting somewhere life delivers you a bit kick up the bum.
Anyway got an appointment at the opticans this afternoon (going for glasses this time) the computer will have to wait (have use of friends for the time being) and the car will be fixed after I have been paid in a couple of weeks, oh and its RAINING now so Im not going out to do the garden
Its not my day, but at least I don't need any food shopping:)

Afternoon!!!
Forgive me for not checking in last night. I didn't think the baking would take so long. 36 cupcakes distributed and being scoffed as we speak! I ballsed up one batch and had to do it again as I forgot the baking powder - they came out a little aneamic. I was doing 1 and half times the batch to ensure they were full deep lovely spongy cupcakes and to get my name out there as capable of such a feat in case others want to purchase some!... Phew! Never want to look at another cupcake for a LONG time!
£22.50 made on eBay last night as well and I also ballsed up an SFD yesterday as I had to go out for more castor sugar and lemons. This means only £6.65 of my food budget remains (after a FULL PRICE tub of grapes bought on way to work. Am feeling fruit deprived!. I have enough to get me through to Sunday and then it's lentils all the way through to Payday! LOL!
Student loan haven't paid up! They said to call back in 5 working days. Muppets!
NannyG - things like these are enough to really P*SS you off. I am so sorry that this is happening to you but I say get that sticky tape that's holding your glasses together and do the rubber seal with it... Stick your head out the window in your crazy glasses until you get your new ones and bark at passers-by! That should put a smile on your face! And who says rain has to be miserable... run outside and get soaked! Trust me this always cheer me up.. or walk to the shops on purpose with no hood or umbrella - enjoy the glorious rain on your face! Simple things.....
Loveadove - I just carted 36 cupcakes into work on the tube in a multitude of boxes. Think I need to get to lakeland or the dreaded TK Maxx for a proper box. I keep saying I will never use and I clearly would! Hmmm perhpaps this is one for Freecycle!
:wave::wave:Hello to Sarah147..Glad you are still with us! Ooooooh 10 days until the END! Wonder how we will all fair!
Wanna_Be get outside in the rain with NannyG and laugh like a lunatic! Others might look at you a bit strange but trust me you will feel so much better!!! I am an un-married un-childed female so my ideas are possibly useless..... I shall leave the more serious suggestions to others but perhaps you need to go see a friend for a few days and let hubby see what it's like to look after the littles on his own?
MrsToast I hope you are feeling better today! You need to rest yourself and the bump! Am sure this muggy weather isn't helping you much! Love the idea you are keeping to the foodage budget and planning... let me know if there are any weird concoctions you'd like to share..:T

Morning everybody!
Interestingly though, it seems to be triggering me into eating better all round (it has only been a couple of days though, so watch this space!). Maybe cause it isn't "low fat" or "low sugar" i.e. depriving myself of something (something that is no good for me, but that would require logical thinking, not something I'm known for with food), but looking for "high iron" and "vit c rich" naturally leads me to lower fat, lower sugar choices....
I've made some changes to my diet recently, and I've found the same. I look for nutrious choices, which often are lower in fat and sugar, but even if they're not the lowest they have vitimins/iron etc that make that OK. I always ask myself "will this make me feel good? Or will it make me feel sluggish and horrid" Usually (not always!) workswannabee_in_credit wrote: »If anyone has any suggestions, baring in mind that I work full time and come home to 2 young kids every evening then please do share.
Hope everyone else is ok - nice to see you MrsToast - hope you're managing some R&R.
Well this might come across as a bit hippy-dippy but how about some meditation/yoga? Both been proven to help stress, and can be done on your living room floor (no need for fancy mats or anything that's just a way to sell you more stuff!) once the kiddies are in bed. Tutorials/guidance from youTube, look for "mindfulness." But again I don't have kids so feel free to ignore me!
Yesterday was a spendy day: Snacks for desk and a bottle of gin as a birthday present for a friend; expenses (which I'll get back . . . but still); and some things we need for the driving trip to France in a couple of weeks: road atlas and a warning triangle (manditory in France) from eBay.

Its also mandataory to carry a self breathalyser in your car when driving in France.
Yes thanks I'd heard that, although I'd also seen (a month or two back now) on the RAC website that they've not brought it in yet and are not enforcing it. I was going to get some anyway, better be be safe than fined!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Hi all, well Im £256 worse off after the lenses/glasses fiasco:eek:, but I needed them to help me see, Im very very short sighted and as blind as a bat without my lenses, anyway I put it on the CC that I had almost paid off, so I will target that one now and get it paid off as quickly as I can, and having changed to having glasses at least I will be able to find them when I drop them:rotfl:
I have acquired a dog until Sunday night as DD1 and her OH are going to a mbike rally at Grantham for the weekend, so lots of doggy walks for me, so KAT if people stare at me I will certainly growl back at them and set the 3 legged collie on them:)
Anyway feeling a lot better now I have sorted my eyes out, the computer can wait as my friend has said there is no hurry to giving this one back, so things are calming down again here.
So working tomorrow and the weekend 6-2's so going to put some snappin up and go up bed, will catch up with you all tomoz

So yesterday's SFD was busted for a £1 newspaper
I just grabbed it as I was picking up milk for the office, without even thinking... dumb bum that I am!
Still other things are going ok, have a lot of expensive things to plan for next month so debt repayment might stall a little, but the car must be serviced and must be taxed...
I also suspect I will be paying the fee to join a local running club, I went last night for the first time and LOVED it! £18 per year is better value for money than the gym I think. Plus I get to run out in the fresh air twice a week in the winter without risking getting run over/putting my personal safety in jeopardy on those dark, quiet country lanes. :T“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Totally agree with this! Personally I am no good at full-on meditation, but there are some great yoga breathing exercises that can really help calm the mind (and body) even doing them for just a few minutes a day. I have a book I refer to now a lot but as karmichi said, there is plenty of stuff on youtube! Tara stiles is quite a good intro and not too hippy-dippy (but her routines move a bit fast for me) and yogayak has a lot of stuff, could be of use?
I used to be really embarrassed to do any yoga-y stuff while Mr L was around, but to be honest if it helps me be calmer and happier, he just has to put up with it! (And actually, he can now see the benefit so is much more supportive).“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”
