    Hi All...

    Quick late night check in!

Spend day yesterday <again> but today = SFD number 6.

Am struggling on my food budget as my new diet is insane and relies totally on fresh veg and lean meat and eggs and milk... I can't see anyway around this if I am going to keep on with it. I will tally up *exactly* what I go through this coming week, and then work out where best I can buy it cheaply.

I did laugh at your yellow sticker story Kat - those grannies are hellspawn I tell you!!! They only come out around bargain time, and despite being off all week - leave their shops until they know us working folk will be trying to stock up - and deliberately take *ages* fumbling in their purses... it's a conspiracy I tell you!!! Hmmm. Wait until I'm 80 - I'm going to have soooooooo much fun.

Have a nice evening and a good day tomorrow xxx

Low and behold a woman with a trolley, standing by the meat, with her discount machine in her hand and she was discounting things a LOT more! I spot a colleague of hers approach with three boxes of said cheese selection and he motions to her to reduce them even more. A sudden influx of yellow-sticker-hunting-grannies descend likes flies.. they hover, pretend they are not interested whilst pressing their soap smelling bodies in the face of the poor Tesco girl and place their grabby hands close to the bargains...

A young man approaches ( by young I mean in his 40's ) and reaches for a box of cheese.. I deflect him and advise he waits the discounted ticket which was being printed as he approached. Within seconds he had a box reduced to 90p, thanked me and walked off. What did this kindness on my part cost me... CHEESE SNATCHING GRANNY THIEVES!!!! They swiped the boxes from under my nose, with hands on them before the stickers were attached and "pretended" they weren't there to do that in the first place.. I actually emitted a "oh no" whilst they swiped. The fiends!

    Ahhh NSK...The innocence of youth.

Another SFD for me, so a total of 9 so far.

I am back at work tomorrow, which for me means 6, 12-hour night shifts in a row:eek: If I don't post you'll know I have died of exhaustion. The thing is 4 of the shifts are my regular shifts, only 2 are overtime! I sure as hell hope I work this hard when I am debt free. The overtime (if it continues) and the pay rise, means I will be able to make a hefty debt repayment (barring emergencies) from my June pay but it is still not enough, quick enough. :(

    Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well, I'm still laughing at Kat's post re the yellow stickered stuff. I'm always the one who hovers rather than getting in there to grab bargains. Tonight I was 50p short of my required £20 spend in SBurys for my £3 off voucher so grabbed some lettuce and spring onions for 24p and pak choi for 14p...no queue for the healthy bargains, just the chilled stuff :-)

I've been catching up on posts on my phone but it's not great for posting and I'm avoiding the laptop at home as it feels too much like work...excuses, excuses...

Food spend still ok and fuel just under. Stir fry from stores tonight and chucked some reggae sauce in. Also got gifted 6 huge cauliflower plants tonight so popped to allotment to get them in and under fleece before the pigeons ate them.

Bought something online on Monday but justified it as it was such a bargain and I can split it up for gifts. Had money in my paypal account from my ebay declutter so it cost me less than £10.

Paid £100 for spa night away in August. I don't pay any extra for treatments but use all the facilities included in the price. We have got into the habit of doing this annually and it is a real highlight and much needed so worth every penny.

    See you all tomorrow

    Morning All! :hello:

Hope you are all grand, especially as it's Hump day! (aka Wednesday!)

I've been up since 5am- OH works verrrrrry early, I've a lot to do today so thought I may as well get up early before work and be productive. I've been changing over addresses with utility companies ready for the move in a few weeks- 3rd move in a year and a half. However, I am end of tenancy so this one was expected and I won't be moving 150 miles this time! *phew*

Doris65 I hope you feel better soon!

Grabbed myself a SFD yesterday which brings me to 7 and hoping to nab another today! :T

Shall be fleabaying this weekend and starting to sort out for a Bootsale at some point in the next couple of weeks. No better incentive to de-clutter than a move with the bonus of a bit of debt busting on the side! Really going to try and push my debt free date to December now! *Gets the boxing gloves on*

Have a great day Spartans! :)

    Good Day one and all....

Spent the day with another MSE friend ( yes I have one that lives near me ) and it was an SFD! And I am lining up another one for today! Whoop!

So I went to the steam room yesterday - never been so steamy in my life. It was so hot I only managed on/off for 30 minutes with my little friend. Then we went to see The Purge. Now then folks - if you are of a nervous disposition it's probably not for you. My little MSE friend only recovered by thinking of care bears and fluffly bunnies. To say she was traumatised a little is an understatment. it was definitly well done - not really a slasher film but a lot of people died. And the concept is sickening!

Moving on... I am out of milk. Now what???? NO TEA???..

It's lunchtime in NSK land, and I have lentils, yellow sticker profiteroles, yellow sticker houmous, yellow sticker yoghurt and a coupl of tesco everyday value pitta.... am feeling a bit fat though. Might be something to do with those chocolate brownies and choc chip cookies I just devoured....:rotfl::rotfl:(from a colleague)...

Right more later - I have to work through lunch. Treats!

    Onwards!!!

  • Spent a lovely evening with a very cuddly cat last night! I think he's missing having peoples around. And I did treat myself to a Chinese, so I guess that's my £10 treat allowance taken ;)

I also found a forgotten £11.24 in a cash back account that I have claimed, and I made another £40 (after postage so this is a guess) on eBay so that's all more money to throw at the debt. :T

    Today will be a SFD

Just spent £2.40 (+ 60p towards the change jar) on cooked meat for lunches for rest of the weekend. No more spending now til Saturday's big shop.

Last night Hubby was having one of his snoring bouts so I ended up in the spare room with Harley (it's where we put him at night to keep him safe/out of trouble) He spent 30 mins diving on and off the bed followed by what seemed like hours of chasing rattling/ringing balls around and lots of loud munching on biscuits. He finally seemed to settle to sleep just as the alarm went off! So tired today.
  • Evening all, made it to keep fit tonight - feeling much more awake now - we had a bad night with DD so here's to some quality sleep this evening!!

Fitness induction was quite amusing - no I didnt need the weight room 2-3 machines without killing myself will suffice for now - had to giggle when she showed me the exercise balls - last time I saw one of those was on the labour ward ;) Oh and the chap that was preening himself in the full length mirror..... :rotfl:

Anyways sfd today, petrol has gone up - I missed a receipt over the weekend! Savings pot has depleted £200 - husband had the dentist and we did stuff last weekend. Bad LAGL :(

Cavity wall malarky is almost sorted - this will also deplete the pot but for the benefit of dd so worth it.

Off to forage for some grub and then sofa with book me thinks.

    Love to all LAGL xx

PS updated signature - need to amend it - it did read sfd 65/20!!! :D

    Evening

Today I spent some money.... again :( It really is a bad habit I need to stop. I bought a chocolate twist in M&S for breakfast as I was too lazy to make something at home, I bought a packet of M&S cheese tasters because I didn't fancy the crisps I already have at home. Maybe I need to start leaving my money at home. I can't buy stuff just for the sake of it then, but there is always a collection going around so I need some money just incase

    New totals now

    SW - £9.90/£20
Lunch supplies for the month - £18.58/£40
    Pre-planned outing - £22/£25
    General spend - £29.44/£120
    Petrol - £50
    SFD - 2/20

This is exactly what I have to put up with! (Not the husband).... my grabby scrabby tabby running like a lunatic around my room, scratching at her litter tray for no reason.... (I have every mirror covered cause she paws at her own reflection)... biscuit munching, running up and down her scratching post.... nutter!!!
