I think that counts as an unavoidable spend!!! :rotfl:

Well I am pootling along slowly, 6 SFDs to my name so far. Yoga last night so feeling pretty good today, though I could very easily have stayed in bed an extra couple of hours! Enchiladas on the menu for supper, from pepped up bolognaise from the freezer, kidney beans and chilli from stores. Will do enough for lunch tomorrow too. YUM.

Petrol spend today, otherwise I believe it will be SFD numero 7 :money:

We didn't go to the cinema last weekend so have been super savvy and booked to go and see Man of Steel (oh Henry Cavill, swoon...) with the free ticket codes this weekend. So excited!! :D I'll have to have a look to see if we have any sweeties stashed away and it could be a totally free outing! :A

All under budget so far, but I definitely think my petrol budget is going to need adjusting upwards....

Morning everyone. Sorry I didn't update last night but I was so tired. It was a spend day yesterday but only a grand total of £11.80.

    Nails £7.50
    Hospital Parking £3
Drink at hospital £1.30 (was in such a rush that I forgot to take a drink but did remember my lunch and some snacks).

I'm hoping for another SFD today as just need to do some errands in town once I've collected DS from preschool.

Kat, I think I may need some of your advice for food as I don't want to spend anything until at least tomorrow. We're nearly out of milk and margarine but I do have spaghettie carbonara and chicken & leek pie on the menu for dinners.

  • morning all (just!)

SFD yesterday and another one today and possibly tomorrow.

Not much else to report - munching my way through my yellow sticker haul with a sausage casserole for tea last night (and another couple of lunches/nights to come) and veg fajitas tonight with my cheapy mushrooms.

I am craving sugar really badly but am trying to resist as I really need to get out of the habit. A little extra has been creeping on around my bum and thighs and I want to shift it.

Alcohol consumption is staying low which is great, another habit I needed to break the back of.

I'm sure to the outside world this looks like a very miserable existence but I'm actually feeling fine (apart from the lack of sugar!) and I know it's working towards the life I want and is only short term (well I hope so anyway).

Hope everyone is well. I am also a member of the sleepy club - my boy greyhound is not a good sleeper and has phases of waking up very very early in the morning and not going back to sleep. He's in one of them at the moment so am on tough love at the moment! evil mummy

    Afternoon all

Kat you would have been proud of me. I snatched a pack of YS sausages from under the nose of a dithering granny in the Co-op yesterday and that fed us all for 75p last night.

I am hoping that the leftover ham that has been in the fridge for err, a little while, is OK so I can make it into a pie for tea. Taking my Dad to hospital this aft for a check up so need to get moving.

I am fairly well on track this month with spends. Maybe saying that will jinxed it. Oh well, off to sniff my ham. Have a good afternoon all.

    Grocery budget: £144/£240
    Fun budget: £30/£80
    Holiday fund: £0/£350
    ISA fund: £0/£400
    Debt repayment: £22/£130
    SFDs: 5/20

Why do I say "No more spending til..."??? I always jinx myself!

Noticed fleas on 2 of the cats this morning and as I only had 2 pipettes left, I've had to go to pet shop to buy some for the 3 others. Also bought cat litter as the stuff I bought at Mr M's is pants and stinky! £9 in all, taken from the grocery budget as that's where kitty supplies monies come from.

Kat, we let Harley have the run of the house for the first time last night. He didn't disturb us...it was the one who kept growling and hissing at him, the one who kept banging at the catflap to go out (we'd locked it so Harley couldn't escape) and the one who decided that as Harley had nicked his spot on our bed, he would sleep across my face and chest!

    Good Day Contender SPARTANS!

You will be glad to know that the next installment of 300 is currently being produced. Don't be shocked if you are all called to appear! :rotfl::rotfl:

It's been a busy old morning in NSK land. I have, for once this week, worked very hard! I am still at work and will be until about 1900 whereby I shall flee like a good 'un. I am actually enjoying this morning happenings at work - I feel as much as I would like to work for myself I am here for the forseeable. It's what I make of it... so I turned my frown upside down and if in the future I intend to leave, it will be on a good note.

The redbull advertisement ends with a caption that says "The only limits in life are the ones you set yourself"... it's my current moto!

HM you just made me remember I need to apply flea stuff to madam Mog tonight - thank you......

Abundant I am craving vitamins.. I like the sound of your diet. If there was anywhere I would spend my money it would be there - on good fresh food! I want to simplify my diet so this minimal food spendage this month is two fold. I would like to just create a diet around the 20 most sought after super foods... I am sure you know what they are but getting rid of cheese from my diet and tea was the first step.. it's getting there. I don't drink tea at work any more.. and my cheese consumption has diminished considerably! So I think I need to buy some oranges soon.....:T

MrsToast - you are allowed to be tired - no need to apologise since you carry an extra person with you everywhere you go...:)... food sounds lovely.. it is good though to stop now and then and consider what you have in your cupboards! It can be surprisingly fun.

LionheartedGirl - I think if people look at my extentence they will assume I don't "live" ... but we are doing this for a very good reason and the fact you are cutting back on alcohol will do you so much good!!! I have an issue with a sweet tooth as well but another issue with having to visit the dentist too often and my jeans are WAY to tight... I am with you on the sugar cutback.. stew some apples with raisons... I am still living on my cache of "borrowed" apples...:T

Lotti - I am amazed at how much a bag of peanut M&M's are at the cinema...£3.25:eek:...my friend had to buy some the other day as she was nearly fainting with hunger by the time we got there..... my discount card took off 25% but even then it was £2.15 or something similar. I usually smuggle home popped corn and treats but we let ourselves down this time... good on you for being seriously prepared! Yes I agree with toilet roll being essential...

SO my birthday money is burning a hole in my pocket. I personally want to spend it on something I want as opposed to something I need. I have checked myself in for a free eye test and spotted a pair of £259 Gucci geek frames.. they are gorgeous but I don't think I have that much money in my tin..... then there is the skin cleansing system Clarisonic that's around £125 that I know I would use but the brush heads are around £20 to replace...... I might wait and see which thought lingers in my head the longest... I am sure both can be found elsewhere cheaper but I am wary of electronic items sold on the cheap or from America/Japan and the frames may get discontinued.. or a cheaper non-branded version could easily be located.....

Right then - back to the grindstone....

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

Found 20p on the floor today in town...Half way to the floor to pick it up and I had that very brief moment of fear that it might actually be stuck to the floor.

    It Wasn't.

    I win...20p!
