Afternoon all - apologies for being missing in action down here in middle earth! Parents dispatched up north, accounts updated, totals updated, now time to rein in until the end of the month and work my butt off literally and figuratively. Off to gym induction in a moment - mildly terrified if Im honest!! Wish me well - might even manage a sfd!!

    Love to all, LAGL xx

PS the yellow sticker grannies - how rude!!

    Morning all,

    Grocery budget: £132/£240
    Fun budget: £30/£80
    Holiday fund: £0/£350
    ISA fund: £0/£400
    Debt repayment: £22/£130
    SFDs: 5/20

Bestie paid for my meal last night, which was lovely and also meant yesterday I only spent £15 in B00ts (added to my fun total as I didn't consider toiletries in my finamce plans, whoops!)

Just spent £16.99 in Mr T's on a top up shop and catfood. £2.01 to go in the savings pot (as we do with all change apart from £1 coins) leaving me £3 in my purse to buy some cold meats from the market tomorrow. Once I've done the market shop tomorrow, no more spending til Saturday I promise!

SFD number 8 going really well :jOnly got a meeting tonight but I won't be spending any money or visiting the supermarket on the way home.

DS and I have made some lovely carrot cake muffins this morning so they went in DS's lunch box for preschool. I have to write the recipe down for the preschool manager as she's desperate to try some but DS won't share :rotfl:

I have a planned spend day tomorrow including hospital parking, nail appointment :j and I have to buy a train ticket for DH to get to work. His part for his motorbike hasn't arrrived today but I have to have the car to get to the hospital. Never mind. One of these days we'll have an emergency fund set up properly.

I hope everyone's doing ok with their challenges. I'm finding this month that as long as I plan my spend days properly, I can collect quite a few SFDs. It's at last got quite addictive collecting them and even DH has started doing it too.

  • NSK I'm surprised you're so polite about yor YS hunting! A true Spartan takes not prisoners! Althought I know how ruthless that scrum can be!

Spendy day here for me: restock on the bathroom cabinet at Lush, and then train tickets for a trip to Nottingham this weekend.

I'm cat sitting tonight (although the word from fellow sitters is Hugo barely makes an appearance, so more sitting in somebody else's house for the evening) so debating a take away treat vs. raiding what may or may not be available in their fridge!

    Hi all
NSKRe: your nice person thing with the cheese episode...I also am a believer in Karma...so you will benefit ..:)

Monday a spend day..£56 on food which takes me into next weeks budget, a couple of days away this week, pre planned, so will have stuff for next week ...£40 for fuel which is £10 less than budgeted for.

However..washing my car today, for some reason the polish/shampoo had separated so when I washed and dried it..the whole of the car was covered in white rings of dried on hard wax...I had to have it professionally cleaned and re polished £20. ...disaster ..then my nephew whinged as I bought yesterday some tinned tomatoes at .25p tin and never bought him any..I thought about it and he is always ringing me as to " do I want any". So went and bought him a dozen ...that is gratis as well..then I had to buy a length of chain £3.28..
So I am £31 into next weeks budget..I am not going to break even next week so looks like a really tight 2 weeks if I am to take this challenge seriously...which I am
    See you next week

NSD 7/10......Grrrrrrrr. Should have been 8

  • Quick check in - spend day today with paying mobile bill and getting out holiday money. However, got my late fee refunded on Barclaycard as they hadn't collected my DD, even though it was from a Barclays account. Was a bit miffed as it was their fault and they tried to kick me off my 0% offer. Talk about them trying anything to make a bit more cash!!

Great bargains on the Yellow Stickers. People are really ruthless now aren't they!
