Spend day today (not budgeted for) went to the lakes with dd and my friends and bought dd an ice cream. Also spent £2 for the car wash as the car was disgusting and I can't hand it back to ex mil in that state.
Had an amazing time at the lakes though, weathers been amazing and spent it in good company

Evening!!!
Planned spend day today - nice trip up to Peterborough to see a friend... Cold and cloudy up there - nice to be back in sunny Somerset :-)
Didn't spend as much as I thought I would - signatures updated. Fuel used was from a separate budget than my monthly fuel (of which I still have £10).
Gunning for a SFD tomorrow.

SFD number 6 today. So pleased with myself as I haven't been able to get to double figures the last two months but am determined this month.
It will be a spend day tomorrow as I need to finish the food shopping and I'm also treating myself to some clothes shopping. DH has offered to have DS all day tomorrow as I can have a break so I'm being kicked out the house at 8am whether I like it or not :rotfl:I've found a lovely summer maternity coat on fb for £5 which I'm gonna pick up tomorrow and the lady is gonna see if she has any dresses or tops for me as well. May as well get what I want second hand rather than new as I've only got about 9 weeks left.
Everybody sounds like they've had a lovely day even if they've spent. DH is having £5 from the entertainment budget so they can have ice cream tomorrow. I may ask my mum to buy one for me while we pick up her chickens as a thank you as well as some petrol money.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Hi Everybody,
So today was a spend day for me, the first in over a week. I had decided to spend my treat money, then thought I may as well do a top-up/hunt for special offers shop at the same time.
I spent £8.10 in Sainsbury's
I spent £3.50 in Iceland
I spent £7.61 in Tesco
At total of £19.21
For my treats
I spent £1.00 in Sainsbury's (Schweppes lemonade for some white wine spritzers)
I spent £2.25 in Iceland ( I found B&J on special offer/half price)
I spent £2.20 in Wilkinsons (Cheap ear phones)
Therefore I still have £4.55 of my treat money left.
So new food balance is £54.09/93.17 I only have £39.08 left to spend and have forgotten about a prescription and a stamp I need to deduct from this. but it should still be doable.
Always invest in the right size knickers...you never know you may just get lucky.
So today as I was walking to Tesco, I found myself behind a large woman and a man who I think was her husband. The woman suddenly decided there was nothing for it, she had to start pulling her knickers from her bum, and adjusting herself. Not something I wanted to watch. They even had the cheek (no pun intended) to look back to see if anyone was there, yes I'm here stop it now! So I stepped up my pace and overtook the couple. I finally got to the Tesco carpark and went to the nearest trolleys only to find they were all secured so I couldn't use one. I needed a trolley, by this time I had been to Sainsbury's and had bought the lemonade and 3, 1 litre pints of milk, so I was carrying 5 litres of fluid about my person.
As luck would have it I spied a lone trolley, I could see something was in it, as I got closer I could see it was a bag of shopping, I quickly did a secret agent scan of the area, no-one hurrying to the trolley, no one loitering about, no-one in a car. I approached the trolley and immediately put my own bags in it. I could see it was definitely shopping and I could see what I thought was mince (meat). I then decided it was too risky just walking about with the shopping on full view, so put it in one of my empty shopping bags. As I was concealing said items, knicker-pulling woman walked straight past me and made sure we made eye-contact. She looked at me in a 'I know what you've done way' but then I thought about it and if she had got to the trolley first she would have done the same.
I did my shop and found some £4 ear phones. I checked Argos on my phone and their cheapest ear phones were £3. So I left the ear phones and went to pay for my shopping. I got really nervous when I left the store I thought knicker-pulling woman would be lying in wait ready to point me out to forgetful customers. Although knicker-pulling woman was no where in sight, I darted down the road and was 5 minutes in the opposite direction of Argos before I realised. I carried on to Wilkinsons and got even cheaper ear phones (they may well disintegrate within the next 24 hours).
The moral of the story is don't assume you are smaller than you are and can fit in to a smaller pair of knickers. Knickers that are too small will make you uncomfortable and slow down your progress, or prompt others to speed up. But(t) for the fact that she was wearing ill-fitting knickers, knicker-pulling woman would have got to the abandoned/forgotten shopping before me.
I have differing fortunes with Tesco. A few months ago I found a £5 note on the floor by the tills in my local Tesco express. However today I found out that my clubcard vouchers are missing as part of this Tesco fraud thing. I have emailed Tesco, although their policy is to replace them anyway, so not out-of-pocket.
So what was in the shopping...£17.31 worth of food, including rib-eye steak, other meat, fruit, chocolate and coleslaw. Whomever, lost/forgot their shopping should be more diligent, that is either a lot of shopping to go without or have to replace (although once I left a bag of shopping on a bus in my hurry to get on to another bus). As I am debt-busting I will take whatever advantages come my way and not kid myself I can get away with a smaller sized pair of knickers.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
I don't know if this is just my personality but I would've handed the shopping back into the store, I'm not sure why but I wouldn't feel right taking it. But I like your interpretation of the day, especially the fact the woman so slow due to her ill fitting pants!

That is so funny MoneyMash. My mam once left all of her shopping behind at asda when she got distracted putting one of her grandchildren into the car. Drove off and got home before she realised, and nobody had handed it in either...
Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. It's early days yet but hubby has admitted to being a lazy and selfish so and so, and has promised to make changes. He started well yesterday so we'll see how long this can continue for.
Had a couple of little spends yesterday. Went to my mam's house for the morning and lunch, which was lovely. Then I spent £2.58 on plastic swords for my son and his friend (didn't want them fighting over one), and £2 on a box of ice creams. Hubby played in the garden with the kids, then we went off to visit my friend and her son for a couple of hours.
I feel absolutely exhausted, and nowhere near ready to go back to work tomorrow. I've got a million things to do and no motivation to do them. Typical me.
Hoping for a sfd today - although it is almost petrol time for the car again already...Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Krustylouise you are so good, that thought never even occurred to me to be honest. As I saw the shopping in the trolley from across the car park I was already thinking what a find! My main thought was not having to suffer the embarrassment and awkwardness of the customer chasing after me 'shouting that's my shopping' at which point I would have folded like a cheap pack of cards, handed back their shopping as well as half of my own.
Maybe it's because I have been on the other side. I was waiting ages for a bus and decided to get on a bus that only took me part of the way home. As I was sat on the bus, my actual bus turned up. I dashed off the bus and got on the right one, immediately I sat down I realised I was a bag light, but put it down to a loss and learnt from the experience (as in check you have all your bags with you).
Not that it should make any difference I only glimpsed the bag at Tesco and thought it contained mince (not that mince isn't worth having!), it wasn't until I got it home I knew what else was in it.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Hi,
Sorry I've been AWOL for so long. My laptop diedMy lovely brother fixed it for me while he was here last week so I'm back and (nearly) raring to go!
Obviously it is far too late for me to join in the June challenge but I will be signing up for the July one (hope there is one?!)
Good luck everyone!0 -

I know I am very good! I remember when dd was smaller I went shopping with her in the pram and I ran out of places to store everything so put the last thing I needed in the hood, got to the checkout paid for my shopping and walked home, as I got dd out of the pram I noticed the air freshener in the hood and felt like a common criminal, bundled dd back in the pram and walked back to the shop to pay for it! *just going to dust off my halo*:rotfl:PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Hello Contenders... what a lovely day! Sorry I have been awol! Another late finish on Friday into a very lazy Saturday at a girlfriends house (SFD).. and today I was desperately trying to sleep in despite being constantly interrupted by a very annoying tabby. Finally getting up at the astonishing time of NOON I am currently getting ready for another OT shift (1500-2300) but thankfully I think it will whizz by..
Will be getting to work and having a read through all your posts... My food stash doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be..more bread was bought on Friday as I was all out and had already spent 90p on soggy chips...(never again)... I get far more pleasure from my lentils...lol!!
