You do need one according to many of the wedding websites on google.
ETA: obviously google's not the definitive guide but I'm guessing that companies specialising in las vegas weddings need to keep themselves correct.0 -
Whilst an entire surprise wedding seems a little far fetched, it is possible that the husband to be planned it and surprised her with it the last minute, giving her enough time to get the relevant documents needed but making telling the OP of the changes the last thing on her mind.
If they had discussed marriage or were engaged (or engaged to be engaged) it is possible that they decided to add Vegas to their trip so they could get married.
Say they've gone for a week, you go to Vegas and get married, spend a few days there, that leaves a reasonable amount of time to spend in Florida as well.
Yes, she shouldn't have lied about it but be it Vegas or Orlando the issue of safety is no different, if God forbid one of the kids got poorly or had an accident, the OP would still need someone who is with them to inform him of it. He isn't going to magically know just because they are where the ex said they were going.0 -

I'm sure the OP said they had gone for 5 days, not much time to have a wedding, a bar crawl and then fly to Disney!
This thread is like a trashy novel with all these assumptions, surprise weddings, stalking, controlling men etc!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

To me its not just the safety aspect. It's the lack of respect for the OP as a parent.
But anyway, I'm not going to sit here and try to present a different point of view any longer. I hope that the OP hears about his children soon.0 -
Well since we only have the OP's side of the story, and he had a wobbler and left all we have is guess work.
We don't know why the ex lied about it, as for the "controlling man" part, the OP didn't help himself with wanting to go to the police and get a solicitor urgently, or giving the ex a stern talking to just because she lied about which state they were going to.
That doesn't come across as being worried about the safety of the kids, it's more I have no control over the situation and I don't like it.
Edited to add;
Flouncing out of the thread because he wasn't getting the replies he wanted also comes across as not liking having no control over something. I think he actually told someone not to reply anymore because he didn't like the fact that they weren't agreeing with his attempted course of action (police, solicitor).0 -
Yep post 18 says they are gone for 5 days so makes the flying on to Disney seems quite unlikely to me.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Bad for kids if she has lied to them saying they are off to Disneyland then takes them to Vegas baby but maybe a couple of days to Florida are at the end of the holiday, but as for the not telling you I wouldn't either all you need to know is the dates your kids are away on holiday - why on earth should she tell you anything? and what difference does it make to you? ok if she has lied to your kids fair enough but sorry you don't need a full blow by blow account of your ex wife's business, sad but true!0

Probably travel companies just covering their a$$es. According to Clark County government, the people who should know, you don'tDivorced Applicants/Widowed Applicants:
Divorced applicants are required to list the Month/Day/Year when their divorce was finalized and the city and state where the divorce was finalized. We do not need to see a copy of the divorce decree. Widowed applicants are required to list the Month/Day/Year they were widowed and the city and state. We do not need to see a copy of the death certificate.

The op says 'she is there for 5 days so can't see Orlando being done', which suggest to me she is in the USA for 5 days.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
