I hope I'm in the right place for this.
Last week I was diagnosed as having an underactive thyroid after having main symptoms of,tiredness, weight gain and mood swings etc.Doctor put me on thyroxin,Last night I felt very breathless and as if my heart was fluttering.Would anyone else suffering with thyroid problems be able to advise me of how they cope with it and any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

My ex is an underactive thyroid sufferer, your dosage may need altering, this is common to someone starting on thyroxine tablets, you should be having regular check-ups for about a year until the dosage is well and truly established, my advice is go and see your doc and tell him your symptoms, sounds like palpitations.cardtart wrote:I hope I'm in the right place for this.

I realise your only asking for advice from people who have the same condition as yourself, although I do ,I would never advice on any symptoms you may be having regarding breathlessness etc ,except to say re-visit your gp as any symptoms may or may not be related to that condition /medication...............and ONLY your doctor can tell you that.0 -

Apparently 1 in 3 women, but much less common for men.
Don't get me started on the different care given to male and female suffers
Ditto too. See the doc.0 -

It is very common, especially among women, in fact it is so common that they use synthetic Thyroxine now, not enough sheep to take it from...or was that pigs.
