Please let's not start having a go at other posters who may have got things wrong. I'm sure there were no bad intentions, just human error.
Sorry, but this time it needs to be said,
Piglet25 gave the wrong name for the dead soldier, at a time when the family had asked for non-release.
Despite others pointing out the fact that the family had asked for a blackout, she left the details in her post.... That was just ignorant beyond belief.
A man had died, his family had asked for time out and that poster went ahead anyway... and gave the wrong name.
No excuses! Shameful! Full stop.:hello:0 -
(Ok a poster made a stupid mistake do some have to keep going on and on about it?
The name has gone now so there is no reason why this thread should not continue along the original post.)
Watching the family in the press conference was just heart-wrenching.0 -
My heart went out to the family when I watched the press conference they gave. I cannot begin to imagine their grief. I hope that the fact that a brave woman tried to come to their relatives aid and was by his side as he died brings them some comfort.
I have relatives in the armed forces and up till this week I only ever worried about them when they were serving abroad. The murder of that young man has brought it home that they are not really safe anywhere. They deserve the utmost respect for the vital and dangerous roles they have, not to live in fear of their safety on home soil. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
If anyone is interested in making a donation.

The family of Drummer Lee Rigby are touched by the overwhelming support they have received and would ask that donations be made to one of the two charities:
The Fusiliers Aid Society through their Justgiving page
