That really only works if you are the kind of person who always has a crowbar on their person.
For the average person, wandering around unarmed, it takes a lot of courage to get approach someone who is heavily armed, and using those weapons.
There were a number of courageous people there yesterday.
Also, don't forget that a lot of people didn't realise what was happening at the time the murder was taking place.
Again, for the average person, your first thought when you see a smashed car, and two people clustered round someone who is lying on the ground, probably isn't "I bet they're attacking him with bladed weapons".
The police did shoot them.
If the police had "left them there dying in their own blood", that would have severely curtailed the possibility of getting further information from them.0 -

yes true about the crowbar but i keep one in the front of the van

really the video i saw last night of the murderer, the poor guy was laying in the middle of the rd on his own & the two killers were walking around
Also, don't forget that a lot of people didn't realise what was happening at the time the murder was taking place.
you mean all the people that saw him run over then two guys beating ten bales out of him with knives in their hands
Again, for the average person, your first thought when you see a smashed car, and two people clustered round someone who is lying on the ground, probably isn't "I bet they're attacking him with bladed weapons".
no you would go over & see if you could help then you would have seen what was really happening
The police did shoot them.
only because they attacked them with knives
If the police had "left them there dying in their own blood", that would have severely curtailed the possibility of getting further information from them.
& you really think they are going to tell them anything, apart from spouting hate
I'm sorry i make no apoligies for my post, go to speakers corner & you will see these mental headcases talking about killing the infidels & the police just standing around doing nothing, but you try the same & you will be locked up before you even get chance to stand on your box.
It's about time the human rights were removed for these people & either locked up or better put straight on a plane & see how much they like it in a country that they purport to love so much.
Why in this country is it that if you burn the bible nothing happens but if you burn the karan you get locked up, too many do-gooders & people that are afraid to say anything incase it upsets someone, about time we stood up & said enough is enoughI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

for crying out loud what on earth is happening to this country, the police should have shot them & left them there dying in their own blood like they did to that poor man
If you believe that you could have taken down two guys (that were already high on adrenaline and who were armed with an assortment of weapons) on your own with just a crowbar, you are very misguided indeed.
This isn't Hollywood - in reality, a crowbar will not save you when you are outnumbered, out gunned and the opposition is not afraid to die!
As to the police, they disabled the suspects in accordance with the law - they are accountable and cannot just leave someone to bleed out.
You are just another bloke who likes to talk big but has no real idea of what it's like to assess and address danger... No idea at all.:hello:0 -
you don't know me & i can tell you i wouldn't have stood around, or pushed my shopping trolly past, just saying it's nothing to do with me,
no you are right i wouldn't have done a heath & safety report & writing a paper on the merits of the dangerI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Most of us would like to think we'd intervene but in a situation like this, where someone has already been killed and there are guns, knives and meat cleavers being brandished - and the perpetrators are fanatics - I most certainly wouldn't.
But all credit to the brave ladies who did confront these murdering maniacs. I admire them tremendously and can only hope that the poor soldier was aware of some of the comfort they offered him.
May he rest in peace.0 -

Everyone likes to think they would however the vast majority would do nothing. You've said the police only shot them when they attacked them but if you watched the video you will see that the firearms officers arrive and are immediately attacked.
The unarmed officers would have been killed had they tried to do anything, an extendable baton and spray is of no match for knives, cleavers or a gun.
I think a great many people didn't know what had happened hence why they were standing around and not running a mile. The woman that walked past was obviously in her own world as she didn't notice, had she seen the soldier or the knives, do you really think she would have walked past calmly. I'm quite sure if you went there with your crowbar then there would have been two deaths and not one.0 -
piglet25...Are you Sally Burcow? It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
When i saw the title R.I.P. British soldier. I thought it was just to pay our respects to him and his family and for the moment that is all i wish to do. God Bless and R.I.P Deepest sympathy to your family .0

I have ordered a Help for Heroes shirt and made a donation. I will wear it in honour of this soldier. He wasn't afraid to wear one and I am damned if anyone of us should be in this country. I am proud of our soldiers.
I can't think of any other way to show my support and respect at the moment.
Thats all I wanted to say.0 -

And indeed that's all the thread should be.
Please let's not start having a go at other posters who may have got things wrong. I'm sure there were no bad intentions, just human error.0
