  • I was offered free broadband if I paid for 12m line rental up front (£140.40) and a £50 credit when I rang the request a MAC number.

The credit was useless to me as it's applied after you've paid the £140 so I switched to TalkTalk with Quidco cashback. Fairly happy so far except getting 13.5Mbps vs 17Mbps with Sky, but it may improve as only been with them a day.

I got a letter the other day, Im currently paying £15.40 for line rental, bb and family tv package.
    Have been offered
    broadband - £7.50
    Line rental - £15.40
    Family package - £16.
So way too much for me.

If anyone has any tips to get everything cheaper please post here :)

Will do... do you think it would make any difference if I cancel now even though the contract finishes on 7th Dec, so i have around 3 weeks till my 31 days notice.

Gave my cancellation notice the other day,
    I have been offered
    £5 line rental
    £7.50 BB - (Not fibre)
    £12.50 per month - 12 month contract
(I havent accepted the above yet)
What has everyone else been offered?

Also does anyone know if they do 12 month fibre contracts if going from normal broadband to fibre?

No they don't, at least not when I asked about 6 weeks ago. All ISPs seem to be min 18m for fibre.

Surely as prices seem to be increased every year and Ofcom has said ISPs need to allow you to cancel with no penalty, an 18-month contract is meaningless. I haven't had the bottle to chance it though (no increase would mean you'd be stuck for 18m and you couldn't use value line rental up front, as you'd lose some of it depending on when the increase came and you cancelled).

Retentions offered it to me (£140.40 for 12m) and I know others who've been offered it too. Not sure it's generally available though.

Line rental saver s not generally offered, but it can be obtained.

On cancelling tv, my offer was £20.40 (I'm not sure if it included Anytime calls), but I turned it down, as line rental saver was 'not available at this time'.

I then rang to ask for offers on broadband and phone (with full details of other offers I could get), as my minimum term had one week to go and was offered line rental up front, without requesting it, and free broadband. I asked for free line rental and was told the offer was not available, so said I'd consider. The man offered to call me at a specific time, for my decision, but he didn't.

This gave me an excuse to call Sky and I got the Derby call centre. I explained that I hadn't had a call back and that the offer had not been good enough compared with other ISPs'. He asked what I wanted and I told him free line rental, which he agreed to.

Line rental, broadband and Anytime calls, £15, but I decided to take tv, downgraded to Variety at half price, so a total of £26.50.

Yes. My first , poor offer, was from a Scottish centre, where they even told me not to believe people who claim, on here, to get offers like free line rental.
