The £15 they will charge at the end of your 12 months @ £5 is their "normal" charge for bb with no minimum contract.
Hopefully they will offer you a better deal in exchange for a 12 month contract if you contact them and request a MAC!0 -
Ex-O2, now Sky, BB customer and planning to call them up to request a PAC to see what they offer.
I'm currently using BT for my line rental; if they offer me a good deal that means I need to switch to Sky for the phone line, I'd like to know what that means for my calls:- Does 18185 and 1899 work on Sky landlines?
- Is Sky dearer than BT for 0844 numbers (we use them for overseas calls)?

1899 etc work, though via their more expensive 0800 access numbers0

Grateful if you could keep us postedIs there a problem with switching away from Sky line back to a BT line (bundling?)?

Update: Called them to cancel. As expected, the Scottish call centre agent launched into a raft of offers. I was offered free broadband for a year if I moved my landline over from BT to Sky. The agent didn't seem to know what 18185 and 1899 was, but based on Quentin's feedback above I decided not to chance it and when he offered for the current £7.50 for broadband to continue as-is, rather than the increase to £15 in January, I decided that was the path of least resistance.
Sometimes just avoiding potential technical problems around a switch-over are also worth money - you have to put a price on the risk of having an outage and/or spending significant time on the phone to get issues resolved.0 -
We've just left Sky and gone with Plusnet.
They didn't offer us any incentive to stay. Broadband switched effortlessly, phone line due to change in a few days.0 -

is the £7.50 broadband only offer the best they are doing.....I have had almost a year of free broadband only which comes to an end in Jan/Feb.0 -
If you move from Sky to another provider do you keep the free Mcafee subscription for the balance of the free 12 month subcription?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Thanks for that, I phoned and they offered me 12 months at the same as previous £5 a month (alhough I had £40 cashback as well last time). I am not sure why I am on the £5 offer as BB is the only service I have with them (my phone line is with Primus £8.69 a month).'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
