  • Have spent 2 hours trying to leave due to them signing me up to a new 12 month contract without my consent and changing the price to£7.50. I am asking to leave within the cooling off period and they are saying that i still have to pay for the service £9.78 because they cant disconnect for the next 14 days which i will have to pay for. I'm currently awaiting a call back from a manager for the 2nd night running lets see if they dont call back again:mad:

Similar thing happened to my sister i.e. switched her over without notice or consent, although I don't think that included a 12 month contract. I think she is free to leave on one months notice.

Are you sure that you didn't get an email saying that you would be transferred unless you contacted them to say you didn't want this ?

When they "transfer" you from o2 to sky as part of the migration, that doesn't allow them to put you on a new contract!

The deal is that when this happens, your previous o2 ts + cs/charges etc no longer apply and you pay them whatever they ask, but you are not in a contract and can leave with 30 days notice and no penalty!
  • I was with O2 for 3 years, the last year I was paying £17.50ish for BB, LR & evening/weekend calls ... got the letters from Sky about migration, fine until I got one proclaiming my bill will be coming down to £24!! (inclusive of a £2.50 charge for not taking a TV package). So I'm moving to Tesco for the same package @ £14.50 with £35.35 cashback.

I was asking about the email, as it states that there will be no commitment to stay.

You look to be the only one to get an email regarding the small print of the migration deal.

All the rest of us have reported being told the migration fine print, estimated migration date and price by way of a snail mail letter. (Which contained a brochure with the new contract details which does state no minimum term unless we sign up to a sky offer).

I didn't get a snail mail letter and only got the brochure after I'd agreed to my package.

Maybe you took up an offer before being notified your migration date?

The rest of us who have been contacted about the migration date only got it by letter.

You will see posts in this thread from others who are awaiting their migration "letter".

There is too much info enclosed with the letter to get in an email.

My initial offer was for £5pm BB alone with no tie in.

When they offered £7.50pm for BB AND Line Rental for 12 months with £75 credit I felt it was too good an offer to turn down. I was also at the end of my BT agreement so it made sense to move then.

I got the same offer too. Well, the first time I called they only offered me £5 a month BB. So I called them back later and spoke to someone else. I got the anytime calls too - total cost BB, line rental and anytime calls £12.50 & £75.00 credit. Really happy with that.
